How long would you say does it take from Century City to town at around 7.45 in the morning?

In good weather probably 30-45min.
There are a number of congestion points.
Sable Road robots over the N1 can sometimes take a while to get through. Traffic backs up around the corner towards the entrance where BMW is.
When you join up on the N1 there are 4 lanes, 2 go left onto the M5 the other 2 go to town. The 2 lanes to town are generally backed up from there already.
So you can join in at your off ramp or be a jerk* and hold up one of the 2 lanes destined for the M5 while you look for a spot to push in.

*Yes I get stuck behind them every morning while heading for the M5. Effectively in morning rush hour there is only one lane to use if you want to take the M5 turn off (sad reality).

Traffic incident and weather depending: 20-50mins.
Average time - 30mins

+1 Really - if everyone just merged timeously the whole traffic situation would on average be so much better for everyone :-(

Personally, I wouldn't leave Century City at 7:45. 7:45-8:00 is pretty much the start of the "peak" of rush-hour. I leave Milnerton at around 7:00 to 7:20 and travel roughly 30-35 mins to Rondebosch. At that time the N1 is already a special kind of hell for the people going into Cape Town central and it is backed up past Sable Road...

Thanks, and the other way at 5pm? A bit quicker right?

Probably about the same IMO. The first struggle is to get out of town onto the N1 (robots past V&A and down at foreshore can be a pain). Once on the N1 it starts moving till where the M5 merges with the N1 again. It can sometimes slow down there. The sable road turn off to CC can back up but that robot normally moves pretty quickly so you'll wait 2-3 changes.

The traffic from sable into centre cape town is seriously bad, everything stands. So if you maybe have the option of flexi time, maybe try arrange to go in earlier and leave earlier thereby missing traffic both ways

I drive from Tamboerskloof to Adderley and it takes 10-15minutes. I don't even want to know how bad you guys have it.

I find it's difficult to get out of Kings Rd again. I stay on Koeberg, then do Piet Grobler St -> Princess Alice Ave -> Lady Anne Walk... Jumps to front of queue at robot. Normally get some dirty looks as I rejoin :D

Connect back to Koeberg from Conway or Van Riebeeck.

Or

Van Riebeeck, Conway, Ryk, Kings, Section, Koeberg.

Try going west on Bosmansdam, south on Koeberg or Marine, back on the N1.

Koeberg Rd is not for the feint hearted. Taxi's, pedestrians, u-turning at intersections, people cutting in from side streets without a care for oncoming traffic...

I leave a bit earlier and sit on the N1, better for my blood pressure.

I go in the opposite direction...

Century City to Tyger Valley...15-20 min

That's quite long. I drive from town to Tygervalley every day. Takes about 15 mins. I rarely have to drive below 100km/hr. Then again I leave home after 9am.
