Traffic in Fourways

It's best to just avoid Fourways in general.

Horrible place to drive around.

Back when I used to live in Fourways, I found a really complicated route through Douglasdale (including a gated residential estate) that helped me cut out a lot of the traffic on William Nicol: click for the goodness

I dunno if anybody here uses that? You should give it a shot, it really works well (if it still does) :)

Yea Fourways is a mess, took me twice as long to get to work this morning.

The Midrand area has been similar, they closed off just one back road and it adds an extra 30 minutes to my journey. I leave work at 6:30pm in randburg, by the time I get to Midrand I still sit bumper to bumper.

Ive been trying to figure out why traffic has been so bad in the evenings, now i finally understand where the issues are

Too many people in too small place? All trying to go somewhere at the same time?

That too, but mostly they're doing quite a lot of infrastructural development - roads, building etc, so roads have been reduced (Cedar for example, is completely closed on the one side). Making things a nightmare.

We do the Kingfisher part - but we're coming from/to Monte Casino. Unfortunately that's also clogged for the last 2 days.

One of the worst contributing factors is people trying to cross the intersections and getting stuck in the middle of them - it really adds a whole new dimension of terror, with taxis weaving in and out of stationary vehicles on the Nicol/Kingfisher intersection.

Yesterday we tried the Witkoppen route from Monte and it was much worse, what with almost everybody trying to turn right into Cedar.
After the Cedar/Witkoppen intersection it was deserted going towards Randburg though.

I've found it quicker to use Uranium, depending on where you want to get to.

We facing the same problem in Rustenburg they fixing roads traffic is a nightmare.

Took me an hour yesterday to get from Jukskei Park to Cedar Lakes
