Traffic in Fourways

We were looking at properties in that area, Craigavon and Broadacres area. Just 1 trip at 3pm on one of the weekdays put us off that whole area. Turning right from witkoppen into Cedar road was an impossible task, and would have been a daily one for both of us

That whole area from Diepsloot, Dainfern and into Fourways proper has been a nightmare traffic zone for years, the latest roadworks have just made an already bad situation even worse.

As if the roadworks along Cedar weren't enough they had to go and close off the section of William Nicol from Diespsloot to Dainfern with a detour route that could win a record for the most traffic circles in all of the multiverses.

I have been avoiding the N14 for a few weeks now because of that.

Something also seems to be happening towards the Lanseria offramp (someone said it was to extend the Gautrain's reach to Lanseria airport).

I sometimes wonder if road construction companies deliberately cause the maximum amount of disruption, maybe there is a loophole in the contracts that they exploit to get paid more money if they agree to speed things up (not that that ever seems to happen).

And those Summercon dudes keep building their monstrosities with hundreds of units . It's a frikkin liability

Traffic everywhere has increased, I worked in Fourways/Bryanston from 2003 right to 2015, I also went to Fourways high in the 90's and it wasn't great then but it was far better than it got in my last few years in the area. Now I head from Roodepoort side to Randburg in the mornings and I have to leave at 5.30 to be at work by 6, cause if I leave after 6 I can sit from 30 min to two hours and there isn't any valid reason like a broken robot or something.
It's all the complexes, the lack of schools, the lack of proper traffic management and just lack of respect on the roads as well, people who go into the emergency lanes to turn left, or go around you to turn right etc...
