Traffic in Fourways

What an epic mess. I stay close to Cedar Lakes (typically take the back roads through Fourways Gardens) and my 8km trip to work in Bryanston usually takes 30-40min (which is already a joke as during school holidays it will take about 15min).

Yesterday my back-road was backed up all the way to my estate as people have started avoiding Cedar and William Nicol. Waze estimated that I would get to work in 2 hours (I literally reversed back into our estate and saved myself the hassle). Then there are all those *********s on Uranium/Willian Nicol who skip the slipway into Uranium and rather turn left at the traffic lights. No cops in sight.

Two days ago it was quicker to go past Uranium, Diepsloot and take the R114 (20km longer than a 3km stretch) to get home. Next week I will have to add 30km to my 8km trip to avoid a 2 hour stand-still - this is all from 6:30am onwards and an epic mess.

This is what Fourways looks right now - which moron decides to start construction on 4 different roads? I now wished that the ANC had never lost Johannesburg, because then none of this would happen and we would merely continue avoiding potholes...

Took me an hour yesterday to get from Jukskei Park to Cedar Lakes

My word - you bunch of people. Clogging up Lombardy and keeping trolleys in the way when I shop at Woolies @Broadacres....

I am pretty certain that most of the MyBB members contribute to my traffic hassles in Fourways. I am sure one of you is the guy out of Fourways Gardens who daily eats cereal from a bowl and spoon and then rinses his teeth with OJ (yes, this is especially gross when you then pick your teeth with your access card).

heh, good luck, I rarely go out. You can see me at the pnp almost daily though :p (weekends only usually). I also know where @Hamster lives, muwhahaha

The Buzz one? I don't go there anymore, but I used to go daily ti buy boerewors rolls from that chickie outside.

bwhaha, that must look nasty. I don't live here, only visiting :p

No. The nice one

There's a ncie Pick n Pay? :wtf:

Must be the Douglasdale one then, it isn't bad. Don't worry you're safe, I never go there. Too close to Woolies Food and their Woolies Chocolate Mousse...

It is the Douglasdale one. I go there for their coney rolls, best rolls ever.

Really poor planning on the road upgrades there. Instead of closing 2 of the 4 lanes it really should be possible to do 1 lane at a time and then have two lanes going in the direction of rush hour at all times. Seriously people, make a plan. The cost to teh economy is huge.

Yeah it's been REALLY mad all over Fourways and even stretching to Lonehill the past little while. Took me 3 green traffic lights to move 1 car length yesterday :/

Sucks man. On a bike I'm generally constantly moving, but even then it is a balls up.

He drive a Smart car thingy? Think I've seen him from my lofty perch on the Gautrain bus.

All you fsckers driving down Leslie with your fscked off attitude - fsck you! You're stuck in a queue deal with it. Smile and wave and don't be such a miserable douche!

Hahaha. I took a 37km detour to avoid the 5km hell-hole of Fourways. Only 4 more months of this traffic nightmare: You guys honestly don't believe that this will only take 2-3 weeks? I have been watching the construction crew on Cedar tuckering away for 4 weeks and they have made zero progress (same with the guys putting down sewage pipes on Uranium).

f3ck off with your cheerful attitude, ratty! It took me an extra 5 minutes to get home today!

Fekking cars thinking it'll speed things up to block the bikes. Honestly, it makes zero difference to them.
