Took one of these from a work colleague - teeth hurt
Seem to be tripping
What do?

Just wondering whether its medication or placebo effect from paranoia

Watch Tramadol Nights by Frankie Boyle....then you'll know why you are feeling like you are hehe :D

LOL a friend of mine who has cancer takes this. Potent! Why is your colleague using it?

Back pain. I have broken up wisdom teeth - besides the trippynes its a great pain killer - organised a prescripition of tramacet not sure if as effective-

Tooth extraction only due in November

I got given a script for this for back pain too. Knocked me sideways and I usually have quite a high tolerance for chemicals (from years of abusing my poor broken body :whistle::p).

Decided, given my history, I'd rather spend a day or two on my back (not moving due to pain - before I get any comments about that sentence) than get too acquainted with the likes of Tramadol.

Good pain killer though.

My Mom takes it for her Rheumatoid Arthritis in the brand name Tramahexal.

Potent Stuff... she takes like six a day.

I'll have to watch myself on it then - I have never been an addict to anything though and taken some pretty potent stuff (Halcion etc)

Halcion is a Benzo drug. Very addictive stuff.

Tramadol is like an opiate. Also pretty addictive.

lol nice ... take your buddies meds thats a very good idea, especially when you dont know what it is. So tell me what would you have done if you were extremely allergic to it ?

Secondly tramadol is a benzomorphan and is a moderate to strong painkiller. Will make you drowsy, you can boost the power of tramadol with paracetamol (tramacet®). Can go up to 400mg/day never more than 100mg per dose can be done 6 - 4 hourly.

Most common side-effect is nausea. Dont consume and drive under its influence if it hits you hard it would be worse than drinking and driving.

My dad takes alot of pain killers cos of his slip disc so i would think he has an incredibly high tolerance. One day he had severe back pain and the doc gave him tramacet - he threw up for 2 days and had to go to hospital. Id watch out for that one!

Do doctors check for possible allergins when prescribing pain medication? A doctor prescribing this is surely taking just as much of a risk as I am.

PS no recorded allergies so far in my medical history. Also did some research on side effects.

Overall decided to not get script and opt for something less addictive

I think only if you are taking beta blockers or ace inhibitors can pain meds affect you otherwise you should know if you are allergic to one of the components.

I was prescibed Tramacet for tonsilitis, but I never bought it. Didn't have enough cash on me :o

rare allergies are often not noticed at all. Not all reactions are allergies as well but can be extremely fatal.

For example there was this one patient she died at 19 because she drank a glass of wine. Why did she die? she had a disorder and her body didnt produce the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase, her body couldnt metabolise the alcohol and it killed her.

This happens alot with drugs when people are unqualified and do their own thing. To a professional its quick and fast to choose a drug for a patient, most of the time we opt for the safer option, which is usually the less effective option as well.

Tramadol hcl is a synthetic opioid, it acts on the exact same receptors as heroin and morphine.
It is hardcore stuff with. I had a bad experience with it, i took a few a day for a week or so and ended up with 'drug educed pneumonia'

You need a NSAID for tooth pain mixed with a softer synthetic opioid such as codeine. Tramadol is way to strong to take till the extraction and you will **** up your kidneys!

Go look at a proper pharmacopeia before starting technical nonsense. You are begining to irritate me now

I can't even count the amount of times you've made demonstrably incorrect claims in the past, and as usual, you are not backing up the claims you make.

If I am wrong, by all means, correct me.
