Hi all

Just looking for some advice before I make the wrong purchases.
My original DSTV setup included extraview with 1110 decoders in the lounge and bedroom with the signal from both decoders running to a 3rd TV that was tuned using the built in tv tuner to be able to watch either the primary or secondary decoder. For example when watching channel 1 on the 3rd tv it would show which ever channel the primary decoder was set on and on channel 2 on the 3rd tv would show the secondary decoders channel. The dish uses a twin LNB.

I've now swapped the primary 1110 for the HD PVR P2 without any changes to the dish and cabling. I have limited functionality when it comes to recording and EPG although all HD channels are available.

I have been told I need a splitter or a multi switch. What should I get and what changes will I need to make to the cabling or LNB in order to have full PVR functionality?

Any help would be massively appreciated.

You need a 2x4 multiswitch & some extra cables
Your twin LNB will go into the multiswitch, it then has 4 outputs
The HDPVR 2P needs 2 of the outputs
The 1110 will use 1
You will have 1 spare

With your decoders in separate rooms you'll have to give some thought where the multiswitch should be placed, you will obviously still need the heartbeat cable which runs between the 2 decoders

Thanks for that bud.
So if I understand correctly, using this method I will be able to use the existing LNB and no additional changes will be needed to my setup?
