Eh ok so i was wrong, but im pretty sure i read somewhere i was a fork of gentoo. And actually Arch's pacman system is very close to gentoo's portage system![]()
No, what you read is wrong
Arch is a binary distro with the repositories built via ABS. Then there is also AUR for easy user compilation for stuff you cannot find in the repos. This is modeled on the BSD Ports system which a few linux distros including Gentoo have implemented im a similar way.
