Eh ok so i was wrong, but im pretty sure i read somewhere i was a fork of gentoo. And actually Arch's pacman system is very close to gentoo's portage system:)

No, what you read is wrong ;)

Arch is a binary distro with the repositories built via ABS. Then there is also AUR for easy user compilation for stuff you cannot find in the repos. This is modeled on the BSD Ports system which a few linux distros including Gentoo have implemented im a similar way.

The arch build system is exactly like gentoo's :p anyways... i prefer gentoo its purple:p

Gentoo was great when it had organized devs at the start. Nowadays that distro is one big political mess and you can see it in the distro. Things break way too many times where as with Arch it happens, but a lot less and never as big as with Gentoo. I also prefer that package updates on Arch usually takes 100 times shorter.

Doubt I will ever go back to gentoo.
