Trying to setup a network server

Could you recommend a few? Any ones that aren't simply a front-end for iptables?

Unfortunately most, if not all of them are just front-ends to IPtables.

You can also check out Turtle Firewall Project & Easy Firewall Generator for IPTables but I don't think they come near Firewall Builder.

I think we have different ideas of what a personal firewall is. Maybe I should call it "interactive firewall" - more descriptive

http://www.fs-security.com/ is a personal firewall, but also based on IPtables.
http://gufw.tuxfamily.org/ <-- looks most promising of all those listed.

There are a few others, but all are based on iptables.
