Tutu withdraws from leadership summit

Slight difference is that Tutu is judging the guy on his past decisions and not current events or topics relating to the summit.

Bliar has profited from his war crimes. If he was a murderer before he is still a murderer.

Tutu must have known months in advance of the line up, and chooses to withdraw on the eve of the summit, the moment there is a hint of protest. Never took him for a populist puppet.

Hes stance would have a greater impact to reject the invite closer to the start.

So are TuTu's "past decisions"..............

Typical African attitude.....................

?:wtf:

He chose to support the ANC back when it was still a terrorist organisation committed to using bombings and killings of civilian peoples in order to further their political aims.
That was his decision back then... no doubt he also "prayed" about that? ;)
Does he really have room to talk now?

Yes he does.

Dude, that's a stretch. He supported the ANC... MK was the military wing of the ANC. Do you think he would have supported the ANC if he had a problem with MK?
He was often seen walking under ANC and SACP banners in marches and protests.
That implies full support.

ANC was a terrorist organisation, its still your current government, somethings you cant control, packing a bag and flying to Aus you can.

Yes, against apartheid. How difficult is that to understand? I don't think for a minute he approved of any of the ANC's military wings actions, do some reading on the guy rather than blurting out personal, misinformed opinions.

OK, let's change that around for a minute....

Tony Blair, Yes, he was against Saddam Hussein. How difficult is that to understand? I don't think for a minute he approved of any of the needless deaths of Iraqi Civilians or the excesses of some soldiers who broke the law. Do some reading on the guy rather supporting misinformed opinions.

Bliar has profited from his war crimes. If he was a murderer before he is still a murderer.

How exactly is he a murderer? Did he kill anybody with his own hands?
Or do you mean by proxy? Because of his support for an armed conflict?
How is that different from Tutu's support for an armed conflict which resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians?
Hes stance would have a greater impact to reject the invite closer to the start.
So he is an opportunist trying to inflict maximum damage to the leadership summit. Gotcha. ;)
Yes he does.
Probably only in the minds of brainless sheep! :D

Sorry, it's not my government, I never voted for them. And I'm staying right here, something you can't control. Boo Hoo.

Bliar will not get trialed at the ICC, neither will Bush, still doesn't make him innocent. They lied about the WMDs etc etc etc, its international news and agenda about his "war crimes".
Not sure why you trying to make Tutu as a terrorist or even remotely the same as Blair, Archbishop, Politician, different?

Maximum damage? Either way, nobody cares about Bliars speech now, Discovery potentially lost a lot, Bliars charges and arm and a leg for his new found leadership fame.

Dont use green smilies to hide your blatant disrespect.

On leadership? Yes, playing lap dog to another country is an great example of that.

So Tutu lets a "poor leader" talk instead of going and talking himself. Its a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face from Tutu.

Just pointing out his hypocrisy and double standards.

I hardly doubt that it is going to affect attendance by one single attendee :D Most people are a lot smarter than the brainless sheep! :D

I'll use whatever smilies I damn well feel like! :D

Oh, you mean these WMD's? :p

Mmm seems you are desperate to make the point that "since no WMD's were found, it means there were none." Sorry, that logic may win the minds of 2-3 olds, but this forum is frequented by mostly adults, with the ability to think.

You can't come back with anything more than insults? I never questioned whether Iraq had WMDs just that one of the main motivations for the invasions was based on a report they knew was incorrect.

I did not insult you. I made the point that the logic you projected, was flawed.

That they decided to attack, knowing full well that the WMD's had already been moved, is their issue. They made a strategic decision, which they considered to be worth the risks.

Any American/British citizen aware of the Sarindar Plan, "sleight of hand" BS, "war by proxy", that the Russians routinely use, would have a different view of the invasion, compared to not knowing of it.

Never mind the huge fuss he made when the Dalai Lama was not allowed to visit SA.
So he thinks everyone should be allowed to visit SA and have a platform to speak????
That's funny, it sure doesn't look like it! :D

Tutu never said Blair does not have the right to visit SA, or that Blair should be refused a visa. He also never denied Blair the right to speak in public.

He simply did not want to be associated with Blair by speaking at the same summit.

By refusing to be on the same platform as the guy, he is implying that he does not want to hear what he has to say.
That is a double standard for a guy who claims that everyone should have a right to speak.

We get it. You hate Tutu. Why is anybody's guess. Is it necessary to bring up the same argument in 5 threads?

Now you want to censor me as well? Let's just censor anyone who has a differing viewpoint to us! :D

Censoring trolls have merit and has been on these and other forums for years.

Not sure what that has to do with me, but whatever....

Do you actually have anything of value to bring to the discussion? or is your sole contribution going to be this little bit of whine?
