tv licence fraud?

Some idiot has used my id no for his tv licence so now i cant apply for it as my id is used for some one else. and i get legal documents in the post saying i owe more than R3000.00. So i phone them and explained the whole thing, they dont care or "understand" at the end of the conversation the idiot still asks me when am i gonna pay.

So what do i do?
 
My father-in-law had exactly this problem. Basically he told them to go f-themselves. They need to prove that it was you that actually applied.
 
i feel the same way now i dont have to pay a tv licence. But the problem is what if they black list me
 
Maybe report it at the police station - get a case number and keep it handy, so if they do take you to court, you have proof you attempted to report the crime etc.

Did you ask them where the licence was applied for? Then contact that store or branch and demand to see the signup document. It won't be your signature?
 
My ID Book aint in my hands anymore...I wouldnt be surprised if it was used illegally for something like this. Luckily have not had any problems at the moment. Should have some kinda service where you can check this kind of thing...where things have been registered in your name?
