Twitter will get two verification badges — including one that is not for sale

Twitter will feature an additional "Official" verification badge below the user's profile name after its new Twitter Blue subscription launches, Engadget reports.

The secondary label will allow users to confirm if an account belongs to official entities like governments or businesses, regardless of whether they pay for the new Twitter Blue subscription.

Just noticed this now, but not all old checkmark accounts have the new Official badge. Wonder if there is some new criteria.

Also, lol if you think the "official" verification badge won't be for sale...

Like I said, I misunderstood his intentions.

Lol, no probs, but that line was also intentionally ignored by the media and so-called insider leakers. It still needs proper guidance though since the public don’t really know how things will work.

Then what's the purpose and benefit of this extra paid for badge?
