Ubuntu DVD existance?

Well its I think its just got more of the software from the repo's. e.g - for people who can't download all the time. It doesn't have extra bells and whistles :P
 
What is it that makes you want to move from Fedora to Ubuntu? Especially on server related issues?

Sure, that's the idea, but you are free to check all the extra bells and whistles you do get with the DVD when compared to the cd. I've done both cd and dvd installs on several of the Ubuntu versions.
 
Sounds like the interwebz has been lying to me! Thanks froot, I'll have to go check it out.

/curious about DVD version now...
 
The DVD version has extra things such as artwork for its GUI (Gnome or KDE), extra utilities and programs such as audio players/games for instance. The cd is ~690MB and the dvd ~3.6GB. Huge difference.
 
But i still reckon you can get whatever is on the DVD from the repo's...
 
So who wants to send me a DVD? Or can I get one from that toaster thing in Durban?

Yes of course. Whether you use the dvd or cd and have access to the repositories, it makes absolutely no difference. The dvd is just a lot easier for the initial install. There after it is all the same.
