Ubuntu Linux 8.10

But that makes no sense either: "Linux always fails to save"??

Does this refer to Linux failing to save window positions?

I thought he meant linux fails to a failsafe mode, ie if X crashes, you're dropped into a terminal and can make your plans from there. Windows BSoDs, then you're stuck.

I may be wrong though.

I'm sorry, but what does "main good difference" and "linux always fails to safe" mean?

if you don't specify something in linux like open a port to outside world and it colapses,it's closed, unlike windows if the door fails to lock its open

Cape Town calling

Where can one purchase the CD in cape town. Don't feel like downloading hundreds of megs nor waiting weeks. Willing to pick up copy and pay any costs involved.

Ubuntu makes for lazy linux users that's as bad as a windows luser...

I strongly disagree with you Tux. There's no need to be an elitist when it comes to introducing a wider user community to Linux.

I'm speaking from experience. Using both OpenSuse10.3 and ubuntu8.04.1, which you could probably call Kubuntu cause I installed KDE on it.. Still makes for lazy lusers. turned me into one :D

Now come on... Linux will never be windows. :p

Besides ubuntu introduces the noobs to linux, the more they learn the more distros they'll try.

How so considering it is the most widely used distro, and the one that noobs are most likely to try out?

you see that assumes, in the first instance, that linux needed saving. which it didn't.

It might not be a dogmatic savior, but it is an evolutionary step :D

ubuntu is no more revolutionary than fedora for instance. it is however marketed better.

Will give it a whirl when its released and see if it's got better re. sound and E220.
