MTN is just an advisory group at the moment, doesn't mean they will actually stock the phones unfortunately, but it's a step in the right direction.

Yes thanks for that correction apparently launch date is 17 Oct no further developments if it's changing or still on
I hope Mtn kicks into high gear for this

hey, that's tomorrow, which means I can format my desktop again. Good stuff.
I really hope this thing takes off. It's one of the most intuitive interfaces I've seen on on a phone, and more competition cannot hurt.

ya thats the confusing part i read 14.04 is suppose to be the touch version but other people are saying 13.10 can be loaded on phones and tablets and 13.04 for e.g I9100

I know they delayed MIR, / XMIR, so as far as I know you can still load ubuntu touch onto your phone / tablet, but it wont be the same software on your desktop just yet. Hopefully by 14.04 or 14.10 it will all be unified. I'm actually really interested in taking MIR for a test drive, but my GPU may be a little out of date.

Yeah, my bad, they were supposed to release a version of Ubuntu Touch today as well. Still haven't seen anything except 13.10...
