Ubuntu remixes desktop

I think this might actually be the ultimate "micro-scale" operating system, much better possibly than that Windows CE thingy for Ipaqs and the like.

Good idea,

I have been running normal ubuntu on my EEEpc and sometimes it really is difficult to use.

But for the most part I experience the most problems with poorly coded 3rd party applications. Applications that do not take the desktop resolution into consideration when spawning windows. An application where the window size is simply too large to fit on my eee small screen, I can't close it move it minimize it nothing, which forces me to open a separate terminal and do a killall -9.

So frameworks like QT and GTK also maybe needs a "Mobile" or "UMPC" version.

they quickly become difficult to use.
They don't BECOME difficult to use, the screen size doesn't change. It is inherently difficult due to the small size.

Can't you move the window?
In most XWindow managers if the window is not maximized you can hold the Alt key and drag a window around with the mouse. You can drag with the mouse anywhere in the window (not limited to top of window frame).

I've worked with windows that are many times larger than the display and it works just fine even if it is a bit of a pain.
