Uncapped 2 Mbps for R149 a month

Mesh networks are cool. Its just a WUG though :) - they don't clam to provide internet access.

"ultra-fast and UNLIMITED use personal Wireless Internet Access!"

"allows one to connect to the Internet using the computer’s build-in Wireless"

"average International bandwidth is 2Mbps"

etc

I'm pretty sure they're trying to sell internet access, why would anyone pay R150 every month to connect to a WUG with their own WiFi cards.

Don't even waste any more text replying here people... It's a lost cause!

Finally, anyone can browse the World Wide Web, send and receive e-mails, speak to anyone in the world via voice over IP (VoIP), watch online videos on Google and Joost, or select one from our video libraries (Video-On-Demand).

Don't you need some sort of license for the distribution of copyrighted content esp when you charging for the content? ( this is assuming that movies/series etc are covered by the video-on-demand )

Look around here for a thread with "community wifi mesh" in it.
We asked all these questions.

For what its worth - I do not see this working. I could be wrong of course.

Lets do some calcs:
In order for PCs to connect with wifi cards alone, I rate one pc every 50m or so to make the "mesh" [1] - thats a LOT of PCs in a (say) 5km radius.

All those people are going to get 2MBps? How?

Anyways, let us see what happens - I have been wrong before.

[1] my PC NIC is not visible to my notebook from around 25m, so I am being generous.

Im certain of the answer but confirmation wouldve been nice... oh well let the hunt begin

See how Telkom and the likes have brain washed us?!? R149 for an uncapped connection is the way it should be, and not an unbelievable phenomena
