Uncapped ADSL was a hit says Telkom

And if it wasn't for mweb and all the other ISP's following suit, we would still be rocking 3GB accounts @ R300 p/m.

Wasn't it Telkom that said something along the lines of "our reports show that our subscribers never exceed their monthly cap, so uncapped won't be looked at".
 
With all these uncapped options floating about at the moment, the ISPs will soon see that even the bandwidth hogs also reach a point where they cannot download anything else, or they just get bored with it and their usage will normalize.

You get to a stage where you cannot possibly watch everything that you downloaded and then you stop downloading stuff 24/7.

That happened to me months ago.

I'm uncapped for the peace of mind. My usage could be 50gigs one month, then 250gigs the next. There's no way I'd be on a capped option.

I'm glad to see they retained 68% of their trial customers. I thought it would be much lower.

don't worry Telkom... somebody else said "I doubt if home computers will be a big thing" or somebody else talked about the sustainability of uncapped.
 
I think it was the 3month free promotion that was the 'hit' factor they speak of.....now lets see how many of those users cancelled and moved off to another ISP after the promo ended...
 
Oooh those Telkom engineers are such bright sparks! Only took them what, five years to figure out that people do not like being told what they can or can't do with a product they have purchased.

I should try and get hold of that Uber clever "engineer" who 3 years ago told me that the internet should only be used for browsing and e-mail, and that I am abusing my ADSL account expecting a 4 meg line to operate at 4 megs and then dare using it... Wonder what his comment might be now? Fools...

That's because they kept billing their customers the full amount after the free trial even though we had cancelled a month before the end of the trial:mad:

Lol what a load of BS, following in the footsteps of others and claiming it to be a hit. When we called for it from the beginning, it was always 'most people don't use more than 3GB'. Fsck you Telkom :/
