This is a great article
Best of all it reflects all the hard work of MyADSL members on the original complaint against Telkomonopoly to ICASA (I only read through the original thread - so many great posts

), all the follow-ups & strugling that RPM had getting progress reports & action from ICASA (it's a process & procedure that ICASA have to follow & waiting for responses from Telkomonopoly), and all the forumites that submitted comments to ICASA at very short notice, as well as all the many posts on MyADSL which have made this possible.
So, to all forumites give yourselves a round of applause, and special thanks to RPM & the MyADSL team as a whole

. I have high hopes that the upcoming ICASA Public Hearings on Telkomonopoly's ADSL will knock $izwe's golden socks off

.
Also, maybe I am personally too proud of all the MyADSL forumites, but I think the government talk about declaring SAT3 an essential service, would never have happened if it weren't for your efforts. Also, I think the collective pressure exerted did speed up the DoC's plans to legalise both VoIP and the SNO.
SA Telecomms has changed a lot for the better in the last 2 years, and I think MyADSL has been a major catalyst in these changes.
Our job is an ongoing one, and MyADSL will always be a consumer force that all Broadband Service Providers cannot ignore.
It is clear that MyADSL is also a driving force for other (non-broadband) consumer telecomms issues - such as asserting the rights of all South Africans to have access to the Internet especially dialup - so $izwe talking about increasing local call costs yet again underscores that we need to be all the more vigillent & united in keeping the pressure on ICASA, DoC and government in general to get $izwe & Telkomonopoly to behave responsibly & become a company that benefits South Africa instead of throwing us back in time.
