OP, I think you are you are treating your job hunt like online marketing (posting a classified and waiting for a response) instead of direct marketing. You should identify places where you want to work and contact the marketing director, whether by phone or by phoney appointment and then sell yourself like you would sell a product.

This. The OP is only 27 and I do not think he has much experience with changing and finding jobs.

Take the top 20 companies you would like to work for. Go to their websites and apply directly. Most big corporates has a career section on their website. Most companies takes 2 weeks up to 5 months with their recruitment process so be ready for a long wait.

I stay away from recruiters personally but I think you should See a bunch of well known recruitment agents.

I did that too ... and my jobs also fell through.

I had two jobs I'd been dealing with their Directors for months and had various interviews, chats etc. They were both at 90+ surety. I left my previous job knowing that either one of two would happen ... and two weeks later both fell through. Lucky, I managed to get something (junior) to tide me through though in the month.

The reason I did it though, was that my old company was, without doubt, the most immoral and unethical company I knew. Faking warnings to get rid of employees etc. They were intent on firing me too and tried day after day after day. You'd walk in, sit down and the next hour was just relying to mails to defend yourself to GMs. I wouldn't leave any other job before I got on offer at a new job.

Glad others are going through tough times,
We can all blame Zuma and his friends.

Op, stay positive, I know its easy to say but difficult to act,
Something will come along, just need to be patient,

I'm sure most people on this forum have gone through multiple employers, and plenty of job searching.
You learn something new from every one....

And sometimes have interesting stories to tell,
Like myself being a Jew and working for the Nazis.....
 
Is this why younare missing ex girlfriend all of a sudden? Sorry RH but much of your story seems a bit off to me.

Jeeze, my hubby and I have experienced a rough patch financially, but I would never, ever be glad that someone else is also having a hard time to validate my suffering. Wouldn't wish that kind of stress on anyone actually.

Lol, I don't get why you are glad? perhaps you meant to say something else? "I'm not the only one" or something haha.

Thank you for the support. staying positive and searching hard everyday. i went for some interviews. i have also learnt to let go of my pride and i will take what I can get.

I do not miss her. I actually regret that thread now. I did learn from that relationship though. but FUUUUUUUUU@#$%K me. I cant believe i was so pathetic and self pitied myself like a little bitch for an entire month. Man i was pathetic between July and August.
I was a real pussy for allowing that girl to make me feel so weak. my goodness. Never again. (THIS TIME IM SERIOUS!)

Also... I am Screwing that crazy girl that i made the post about in 2015 so that's got me feeling better :P
 
Clearly you are feeling better.

She didn't make you feel weak. You are a dick. Your **** up is the best thing that happened to her if that's your attitude now. You still have so much growing up to do, and it seems that these hard life lessons take a little while to sink in. You should really try practice some humility.

No it's the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm not a dick, I am actually a great guy. She wanted to hurt me because I went to start a proper career. she left me, this would have been good for us. You dont just move on if you have been telling someone, and fantasizing about your wedding day, you future house, pets and all of that. and then just give up when you are going through a tiff. She also allowed people to poison her mind.
I was a bit selfish in the sense that I need to sort my life out and get a proper career. and there is nothing for me in the town I moved to for her.

If you ever met me and had a beer with me, you would be like "wow... what an awesome guy"
