Unemployed...

I get the feeling "Financial Advisor" == "Medical Aid/Life Policy" salesman. Still, a job is a job, a pay check is a pay check and a clear credit score is a big thing.

Even if that is the case, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that job. One would still need a good understanding of the products they are selling, and get some type of training. It's hard, for sure, but an enterprising person could probably make some decent money. Enough to live off of at least. I suspect that our OP is a little bit picky. Wants a job in the right location, and the right job, because he is a swell guy and good at what he does. Guess what. That's everyone else out there as well. We have all had to differentiate ourselves, and find our own path. I studied law for crying out loud and now manage network builds. We roll up our sleeves and do what needs to be done.

The required modules you need to complete , training wise, before you can get a consultant code, is upwards of R40K per year. Without a valid and open consultant code, you can not trade as a financial adviser.

Interesting. I remember being offered a job - think it was Liberty who were offering it - where they pay you by week for the first 4 weeks (all of which are training weeks) and following that you work, whilst also getting the qualification (can't remember what they call it).

But it probably ties you into a length contract to finish the training or what not.

Good day

My current employer hired me from my previous company which I was permanent employed
And they needed me urgently

However I have been made permanent in my new company about a month ago and now the whole company is being retrenched. I have reason to believe that this company knew all along that they closing down in the first month I was employed however I was still made permanent, the evidence I have is a production plan which get done at least 3 month before hand( supply chain ) . This is a massive big company. We have a consultation process running at work

However my question is can I claim unfair dismissal because the company knew they were closing and still hired me and advertise a
permanent job

I will be unemployed for I don’t know how long but can I take this matter further the company going to a other country to do business

Regards jack

I once spoke to a well to-do executive and asked him for his top tip in getting ahead. He said when you start out, you should never look down on a menial job or a menial task if that is what is required at the time. Bill Gates once said something similar. You seem to think you are too precious to do something like waiting tables while you are looking for a job. You seem to be of the same character as my useless brother in law who thinks he is too good for an ordinary job and has instead been sponging off his family for more than a decade. People on this very thread have offered suggestions and opportunities and you throw it back in their face. Grow up.

It is the millennial attitude. world owes ME
