In Utero tests are around (according to a quick google) but are risky the kiddo inside at times from what I'm reading here.

http://www.babymed.com/pregnancy/can-paternity-test-be-done-utero-baby-born

A paternity test can be completed in utero, well before the baby is born but it usually requires an invasive procedure like an amniocentesis or CVS chorionic villus sampling .

Though the process comes with certain risks to the baby, in cases where the paternity needs to be determined before the child is born, there are two options for prenatal paternity testing - amniocentesis and CVS.

Many mothers will recognize CVS as being one of the tests offered during pregnancy. CVS, or chorionic villus sampling, takes a small piece of the villa that formed during the beginning weeks of gestation, usually around 12-14 weeks, and tests that DNA for a paternity match. After the 14th week of gestation, the CVS test can no longer be completed as the villa deteriorates.

After the 14th week of gestation, mothers can request an amniocentesis for paternity testing. The amniotic fluid carries the cells of the baby and these cells can be used to strip out the DNA needed for a paternal match. An amniocentesis can be done any time during pregnancy after 15 weeks, though most are done between 15 and 20 weeks.

In utero paternity testing is expensive and may not be covered by medical insurance. There is also the risk of damage to the fetus or the amniotic sac. In rare cases, the fluid will continue to leak from the sac and the baby will need to be delivered or you have a miscarriage. Most often, the court system will need to be involved for a doctor to consent to prenatal paternity testing.

Hi everyone....for obvious reasons...i want to be anonymous writing this message!

So I know this girl for a while now, we are just friends, nothing else.
3 weeks ago , we had unprotected sex, during and after i asked her a few times if it's ok and maybe we should rather use a condom and she assured me it's ok.

yesterday i was told she is pregnant.
seems like i am unable to convince her to abort...i asked her how far is she, and she said 5 weeks! but we had sex 3.5 weeks ago!!!

however someone posted this on the internet:

She might not understand the difference between a doctor telling her "you are x weeks pregnant" and a conception date. (A doctor times a pregnancy by the first day of the last period, or if that date is not known, by an implied first day of the last period. Doctors don't mess around giving conception dates, they don't know what they are

is this true?

Should've used condoms you utter mug

Some reading material.

http://www.dnaplus.com/fetal_cell_prenatal_paternity_test.htm

Fetal Cell/DNA Prenatal Paternity Test

A Noninvasive Prenatal Paternity Test Sampling Only the Mother's Blood

This prenatal paternity test uses only the mother's blood - and samples from the alleged father(s) - to determine the paternity of the child as early as 10 weeks into the pregnancy. No blood is taken from the alleged father(s).

Unlike an amniocentesis or CVS which could cause problems in the pregnancy and/or fetal injuries, induce labor, or terminate the pregnancy, this test is noninvasive. You do not need to have an amniocentesis or CVS to do this test.
This test is both cost effective and safe, and is a doctor-recommended alternative to an amniocentesis or CVS.

The collection of all specimens for this test is safe and noninvasive for both the mother and unborn fetus, and you do not need a doctor to collect the sample specimen.

Because no doctor involvement is necessary in the testing process, we can guarantee absolute and total confidentiality.

A collection technician is needed to complete this test. DNA Plus coordinates all aspects of this test with one of our thousands of collection sites nationwide. All arrangements will be made during your consultation.

I had a pregnancy scare once and freaked out but I was always supportive(just ended up her being stressed and that is why her period was late).

Man up my friend.

Mister GlassHalf Full right here! ^ Take notes OP!

thats another sad thing....the friendship is clearly over :-(

Just cos you got her "allegedly" preggers?

Was the sex any good though?
Cos now you're also left with a stomping ground that you by all accounts should have regular access to until you get the Fetal Cell/DNA Prenatal Paternity Test done.
Well - that's if you could find a place that does it here and if she'll still be game after you ask her to consent to it :erm:

Seriously though - try and get the test done.
The two of you are on thin ice now, Stressed Eric's and all.
Get peace of mind about the situation and move forward from there.

I'd be asking myself Q's like:
Why did she decided to get laid with me after 2 years [was it two years? thought I read it somewhere in here] and unprotected, yada-yada.
The list goes on.

P.O.M (Peace of Mind) - Not just an Englishman ;)

I am meeting her tomorrow....i am not sure what to say.
I would like to be supportive and understanding, but under no circumstances she must think i approve of this pregnancy and will support her decision.

I tried to find her reasoning for wanting the baby, and why now...but i can't seem to get through...

Attention Sam: I am not this guy.

Stupid of you for not using protection. And under no circumstances should you tell a woman to get an abortion.

When I saw this thread I thought of you

Tell her that you don't want to have a baby with her (unless you do?) but if she wants to have it then it's her call. No point being supportive if you don't mean it.
