And how much of that is due the advancement of blacks (who are coming off a much lower base), and how much is due to a changing economic climate generally?

I never mentioned a single stitch about it being detrimental to whites, just that the advantage was eroding.

Because we don't need to accept it, we've been pushed around enough now. There is no need to adapt. I'm sorry that you feel you have nothing left in life worth defending. I have lots and I will fight do defend each and everyone of them even my language.

In fairness I am studying in France at the moment (not to mention that my classes are in French). Yet I do not feel oppressed when I do not understand the terminology, I wonder what the French will do if I start burning tyres and protesting asking for all my lectures in English.

As much as is necessary for it to reach the level the speakers demand it be at to be acceptable.

Funding can come from government and the speakers of the language.

Maybe a language levy... I'm a big proponent of putting your money where you mouth is.

That is already happening, however there is no need to simply give up all public institutions in a masochistic surrendering sense.

The South African government took away skills needed for critical thinking and analysis from the people who need it the most. That is more damaging than any amount of land "appropriated" or any amount of jobs "reserved".

Tuks had tried this a few years ago, in fact almost 20 years ago the department of languages initiated programmes to try and develop Sepedi/North Sotho for academic purposes. There was simply no interest from the communities. Historically mother tongue education has been developed by the mother tongue speakers. That is also the difference between Afrikaans and the rest of the languages, the Afrikaners saw enormous value in developing their language and it contributed to their economic progress during the last century. The same can be said about Hebrew in Israel and pretty much every smaller European language community. However for North Sotho there was simply no interest, which is why the language remained where it is today.

Just a few examples :

1) Purchasing power, ZAR has turned to shyte due to ANC policies and this will have a massive impact on inflation.

2) Quality of education has changed to some of the lowest in the world, as evidenced by regular studies and international comparisons.

3) Jobs, due to the racist policies of BEE/AA.

4) Food security, agricultural sector is collapsing, not just due to the drought, but also due to incompetent policies.

5) Electric power security, due to the incompetence of the ANC.

6) Cash flushed down the toilet due to the incompetent management of SAA, etc, etc.

I could go on ...

Why are you mixing schools and universities? And I'm not saying using resources for general improvement, I'm saying using resources for the specific elevation of 1 language above others.

I agree that vandals and criminals shouldn't be dictating or be capitulated to, but a lot of it (as I mentioned earlier) comes from literally years of non-action on the part of the universities.

That is not true, Tuks had amended their language policy numerous of times and it is renewed every few years. That is another thing about these protesters, they simply do not argue with facts.
