Well if you must force me into a cconversation I wasn't interested in...

1. I don't care whether there's Afrikaans lectures at UP or not. None of my business.

2. I have no political affiliation whatsoever so I'm not entirely sure why you saying its what the EFFSC wants should make a difference.

3. When did I say the UP protest is or isn't racist. I said A and you heard Z.

She said nothing of what her colleagues felt about the protests. She spoke what SHE felt about the protests and about what her colleagues' parents thought about UP.

Oh and my keyboard is perfectly fine.

This is true. There will be rivers of tears if the EFF and the ANC bring about a civil war. A major problem is mindset. Tolerance is interpreted as weakness. What is constantly misinterpreted are the great sacrifices that have been made. It is important that regime change is not seen to come through the barrel of a gun. Otherwise SA is seen as no different to most other squalid African dictatorships in Africa. However, the camel’s back is about to break. It awaits the final straw.

The most important point is:
It is important that blacks are represented. Blacks must be highly visible. The only option is the Zulu. The Zulu and the ANC Xhosa have grievances going back centuries. The Zulu on Xhosa slaughter will not stop and the slaughter will be horrendous. The Zulu have a reputation as cruel and merciless warriors. There will be little chance of reconciliation after. Think Rwanda.

There is little chance of international interference. Whoever chooses to interfere (US/China/Russia etc) will be objected to by the other side. There would be a danger of SA being a proxy battlefield for superpower confrontation (exceedingly bad for SA). The conflict will spread. There is a risk of WW III beginning.

And what her colleagues thought can be easily interpreted of what they felt. That's how communication works, party a says something, party b interprets it.

This is correct. The EFFSC's agenda is the disruption of society in order to gain political power for themselves; universities are soft targets for this. Naledi Chirwa, the National Legal and Transformation Officer of the EFFSC, even tweeted the following earlier in the year:

When FeesMustFall took place last year (not an EFF initiative), the EFF took note of the power of student protest and are now abusing it. They simply latch onto issues where they can get popular support (worker rights, accommodation, Afrikaans, colonial and apartheid era symbols, etc.) in order to gain power for themselves.
 
Here's another tweet of Naledi Chirwa, the National Legal and Transformation Officer of the EFFSC, calling for the disruption of institutions that protect "white monopoly capital" (in the middle of a conversation about UP mind you):

People seem to be missing this.

UP wants to have Afrikaans and Sepedi as secondary languages, for use in tutorials and discusions, but not in lectures or tests. Afriforum, or at least AfriForum Youth's national co-ordinator, Morne Mostert, wants Afrikaans to remain a special flower.

To some up, UP wants English offically, with Afrikaans and Sepedi informally. Afriforum wants "mutual recognition and respect of Afrikaans and Sepedi", though personally I doubt how hard they would fight to have Sepedi allowed as an offical language. EFF wants English only.

Final disclaimer, violence is bad, but we should also debate the issues, not simply the methods.
 
An important difference between Afrikaans students and the rest is that Afrikaans students usually will have had their schooling in Afrikaans while the rest usually will have had their schooling in English. In subjects with subject specific terminology, Afrikaans students, especially at first year level, are at a disadvantage if they are to suddenly learn these subjects in English.

Ugh, election time again and every party is on this "jump on whitey" bandwagon. Even the DA is on it (US).
Nothing about lets work and build ZA !
