Up link on my HUB

Good day

On my network HUB (Without wireless) There is a network port that says Up link..

(I would have googled it if I had cap. But I don't...)

So I just want to know what can I put in there?

Because on the otherside (Where the LED light is...) there isn't a light for the up link.. so I was thinking.. Maybe it's for like a printer or another modam maybe?

its for connecting hubs together. reverse twisted pair. no use to you.
 
If you connect a flux capacitor to it you can create a time machine.

What's the make and model of the hub? These things can differ.

What do you mean a tome machine?

Its a small 8 port hub box..

The uplink port is generally for "daisy chaining" hubs and is crossed over so you can use a straight cable. These days everything is auto sensing so you could possibly plug another PC in there or you ADSL router if it only has 1 port. Network printer might work as well.

To be honest hubs went out with the quare wheel about 10 years ago. Even 8 port home switches can be bought for R150 these days.
 
Well I got it from a friend that was working at a small internet cafe, so 'm not really complaining..

Because I was thinking of hosting a LAN over the weekend.. And just wanted to know how many people I can ask to come..

But you know.. What is the difference between the one I have and the ones sold at shops now?

The speed at things are both the same..

I don't want a wireless one, because then 4 ports goes to wireless, and the speed is slower..

Anyway, thanks lol..

Will try it out during the weekend..
