‘Human Centipede Part 3′ Assembled For May Release!!

The 500-person centipede has finally been assembled, and will head to prison this coming May!

Human Centipede Part 3 (Final Sequence) will be released in limited theaters and VOD platforms May 22nd, 2015 (no assembly required), EW reports.

Dieter Laser and Laurence R. Harvey, who played the villains Dr. Heiter and Martin in the first and second films, respectively, are featured. Eric Roberts, Robert LaSardo, Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister, Bree Olson, and director Tom Six also star.

Director Tom Six has promised that the movie is “100 percent politically incorrect.”

Oh, and here’s the official plot crunch of the final Human Centipede!

Bully prison warden Bill Boss (Dieter Laser), leading a big state prison in the US of A, has a lot of problems; his prison statistically has the highest amount of prison riots, medical costs and staff turnover in the country. But foremost he is unable to get the respect he thinks he deserves from his inmates and the state Governor (Eric Roberts). He constantly fails in experimenting with different ideas for the ideal punishment to get the inmates in line, which drives him, together with the sizzling heat, completely insane.

Under threats of termination by the Governor, his loyal right hand man Dwight (Laurence R Harvey) comes up with a brilliant idea. A revolutionary idea which could change the American prison system for good and save billions of dollars. An idea based on the notorious ‘Human Centipede’ movies, that will literally and figuratively get the inmates on their knees, creating the ultimate punishment and deterrent for anyone considering a life of crime. Having nothing to lose, Bill and Dwight create a jaw-dropping 500-person prison centipede.

The new Human Centipede is going meta once again, which is awesome. I love that Six continues to put a middle finger up to critics of the first film by launching the franchise into the “real world” where absolutely terrible things happen. Bring on the 500-person ‘pede!

Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’ Series Coming To The Silver Screen And TV

In an exclusive report from Deadline, it’s been announced that Stephen King’s horror/fantasy series The Dark Tower will be produced for both film and television. Sony Pictures will be teaming with MRC to co-finance this project.

The series will start with The Gunslinger, the first book in the series. The latest script is co-written by Akiva Golsdman and Jeff Pinkner.

King himself has commented:

I’m excited that The Dark Tower is finally going to appear on the screen. Those who have traveled with Roland and his friends in their search for the Dark Tower are going to have their long-held hopes fully realized. This is a brilliant and creative approach to my books.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group chairman Tom Rothman adds:

There are few projects out there that compare with the scope, vision, complex characters and fully drawn world that Stephen King has created with The Dark Tower. I am a giant fan. And, as Stephen himself does, we love the direction that Akiva and Jeff have taken. This is a great opportunity for a director to put his or her stamp on a cool global franchise.

There is no release date yet but it’s pretty amazing to see this series move forward after years and years of speculation, rumors, and missed opportunities.

‘The Blair Witch Project’ Returns!? (Exclusive)

EXCLUSIVE: I’m hearing rumblings of some major happenings over at Lionsgate that I haven’t had a chance to confirm yet. But, now that you’re reading this, I’m officially poking the bear(s) in hopes of gaining clarity.

In a potential monstrous exclusive (please, no eggs to the face!), an insider is telling us that Lionsgate is already in production on a new entry to the The Blair Witch Project series!

Is it a remake? Is it a sequel? Is it a spinoff? We aren’t sure. BUT, it’s quite possible that the newly announced The Woods, which is being directed by Adam Wingard from a screenplay by Simon Barrett, is said film. We just don’t know for sure.

The Woods‘ plot is being kept very much under wraps, which only lends credence to this theory. What we know is that it does, “…involve a group of college students on a camping trip who discover they are not alone.” If that doesn’t sound like the perfect foundation for a new Blair Witch film, I don’t know what would!

If this story proves true, the new Blair Witch is being produced by Keith Calder and Jessica Wu of Snoot (You’re Next, The Guest), Roy Lee (Poltergeist, The Ring) and Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious). That’s quite a team!

Rumors about a third Blair Witch have been swirling for years. Back just this past January Blair Witch co-director Eduardo Sanchez said a sequel was inevitable.

The 1999 The Blair Witch Project made a whopping $248M at the box office, which had Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, the non-found-footage sequel in theaters by 2000. It was a huge flop and canned the series for the past 15 years. To me, a third Blair Witch is a no-brainer, and always has been. How exciting would this be?!

And…could we finally see “The Witch” this time around?!

Denzel Washington Returns as The Equalizer 2 Sets 2017 Release

A sequel to Village Roadshow’s The Equalizer is on the way! Columbia Pictures has officially set a 2017 release date for the follow up to director Antoine Fuqua’s 2014 adaptation of the 1980s television series. The Equalizer 2 will hit the big screen September 29, 2017. That’s almost exactly three years after the first film opened.

In the first film, Denzel Washington stars as McCall, a former black ops commando who has faked his death to live a quiet life in Boston. When he comes out of his self-imposed retirement to rescue a young girl, Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), he finds himself face to face with ultra-violent Russian gangsters. As he serves vengeance against those who brutalize the helpless, McCall’s desire for justice is reawakened. If someone has a problem, the odds are stacked against them, and they have nowhere else to turn, McCall will help. He is The Equalizer.

Washington should definitely be returning for The Equalizer 2, although no director or additional cast has, as of yet, been confirmed. Washington is currently reteaming with Fuqua, however, for The Magnificent Seven, a remake of the John Sturges western classic that, in turn, was a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai.

‘Regression’ Cult Arrives to Take Emma Watson Away

The Others director Alejandro Amenabar is back with a new chiller, Regression, which pits Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke (Before Midnight, Training Day) and Emma Watson (Noah, Harry Potter) against a Satanic cult.

We now have the official U.S. trailer and news that Dimension Films will release on August 28th, 2015.

The Regression trailer is way different than the international one, keeping the hooded figures a mystery (there’s a really brief, fuzzy shot of them) and saving them for a bigger reveal during the film’s release.

“Minnesota, 1990. Detective Bruce Kenner (Ethan Hawke) investigates the case of young Angela (Emma Watson), who accuses her father, John Gray (David Dencik), of an unspeakable crime. When John unexpectedly and without recollection admits guilt, renowned psychologist Dr. Raines (David Thewlis) is brought in to help him relive his memories and what they discover unmasks a horrifying nationwide mystery.

Jeremy Renner Shares Early Captain America: Civil War Artwork!

“Whose side are you on?” is the comic book tagline being echoed today on a piece of promo art for the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. Below, you can check out the original image, which star Jeremy Renner just shared via Twitter! It appears that the art is being used as part of a special card welcoming Renner to the set.

Set for release in the United States on May 6, 2016, Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. It is set to feature the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, this time joined in his “solo” film by fellow Avengers Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. Sebastian Stan will also be back as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier alongside Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Martin Freeman in a mystery role. The film is also supposed to debut Marvel’s new Spider-Man, although casting has not quite been confirmed.

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

More of a quantity issue, if anything. I think the quality went up when Marvel took control, but the content is the same. They're just bombarding us with them.

The quality went up initially for sure. I get the sense that they're beginning to dip in quality though. If each Marvel film was as good as the original Avengers or X-Men, or Captain America 1&2, or Iron Man, or Thor, then it would be awesome. But they have this impulse to cram more and more action and interwoven storylines into each movie, so the movies become a prelude to other movies that are in the pipeline because it's all one 'universe', which means a movie can't be a self-contained entity and just breathe and have a personality of its own. JJ Abrams now had a major falling out with Marvel which can't portend well.

I think you've nailed it. Although I think the first Avengers already went down this road. For me the first Captain America was probably the best Marvel film so far.
 
Warcraft is set to debut in theaters on June 10, 2016

Neill Blomkamp’s Alien Movie Reveals New Concept Art

District 9 and Elysium helmer Neill Blomkamp has provided a small update, as well as a new concept art design, for his new Alien movie in 20th Century Fox’s franchise featuring Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley and Michael Biehn’s Hicks. Check it out in the gallery below!

Blomkamp posted the image on Instagram along with a tag reading: “#alien going very well. Love this project.”

At this point, it’s uncertain precisely what route the new film will take, but the continued use of Weaver and Biehn’s likenesses (as featured in the previously-revealed concept designs) seems to indicate a likely return to the franchise for the pair.

“[Sigourney] knows about it,” Blomkamp told ComingSoon.net in February, “and part of it was just inspired by speaking to her on set when we were filming ‘Chappie,’ and getting her thoughts on ‘Alien’ and what she thought of the movies that came after ‘Aliens’ and what she felt about Ripley and what was incomplete for her about Ripley. There was so much fuel in what she was telling me.”

Ridley Scott, director of 1979’s Alien as well as 2012’s pseudo-prequel Prometheus, will serve as a producer on the currently untitled Neill Blomkamp Alien Sequel, which has a tentative 2017 release slot.
