Has anybody just received an email, regarding update on change of plans, with regards to the integrated data sim? Bit disappointed by this, but hey ho, it was good while it lasted.

Dear
We trust that you have been enjoying and benefiting from your Telkom Integrated Data service.
What is the Telkom Integrated Data service?
With the Telkom Integrated Data service you are able to access your Telkom Internet fixed data bundle from any mobile device, such as a WiFi router, Tablet or 3G USB modem, via a Telkom Internet SIM. This means that you will be able to connect and use the internet at home when your DSL service is not working. You can also use the Telkom Integrated Data service when you are on the move. Please note that your Telkom Internet SIM only works on the Telkom 3G/LTE network. Click here to confirm 3G/LTE coverage.
This offering was on promotion during 2015 and, due to popular demand, extended to 31 March 2017. During the promotional period, SoftCap Internet accounts were entitled to consume their fixed internet data bundle on mobile and Uncapped accounts were allocated a fair amount of usage.
New data allocation
New data allocations will become applicable from 1 April 2017 and will become default on all SoftCap and Uncapped products. Existing customers will automatically be converted to these new values. Refer to the table below for the amount of mobile data that will be available per Telkom Internet product, at no extra cost to you. You will continue to access your fixed data bundle via your Telkom Internet SIM, but will be limited to the data amounts as indicated below.

You will still be able to top up your data via www.telkom.co.za/today/help/home/. Go to Internet & WiFi and select Top Up Data. You will require your Telkom Internet username and password to login. Once logged in, you can purchase the required amount of data via the secure credit card purchase facility.

I also just got it and I am quite peeved. When I got this the person at the Telkom shop said absolutely nothing about it being a limited time special offer. I got this specifically for a part of my property where I can't extend my wifi signal to and it required the purchase of a router for R1399 too. Not cool, Telkom.

I will be cancelling my Telkom internet account as a result.

I don't get why they drop it down to 1 gig, also it's no longer an integrated sim Telkom. It's just a normal data sim which is what I got in 2014 on one of your other promotions.

Don't make hasty decisions...

So, looking at the top up options on the Telkom website it doesn't seem clear what the costs to top up your integrated sim with more data will be. They only show the cost to upgrade your DSL data. Anybody got any ideas on how this will work from 1 April?

I think we can expect a press release about a week before mentioning changes. :) These prices were really good even if i never used the option to top up :p.

I cancelled my Softcap data which I used for the Integrated Data Sim.

I thought it will only be cancelled at the end of the month, but all sims are now dead.

i have no idea what to do right now. Im thinking of cancelling my Telkom DSL data, and moving my line to another ISP. Only reason i stayed with Telkom was due to the really awesome integrated data sim. So Telkom really needs to make a proper announcement as to what is happening, as i dont want to be left moving, and then the integrated data thing is even better

@Icemanbrfc , just wait it out like i am going to aswell. I just hope those hotspot abusers will move away from this package .

I lose every month 90 gigs, so not a heavy user, but yeh i agree. But i dont know how much longer to wait lol

@Icemanbrfc , why so little? Streaming & updates etc? That's a puny number that :p.

April 1st unless they do a press release sooner or send a mailer out .

I have data with another isp. I mainly use the integrated sim as a backup. But going to downgrade my data on Telkom

how does one actually get an integrated sim?
i thought it is only available for selected used.

Need to be a Telkom Internet customer then you go into the direct store and ask for 1 [free]. 1st April data allocation is different for example: 100GB <> 100GB mobile data will be 100GB [ADSL] <> 2GB mobile data. More info on changes here. Edit: Actually query at your direct store if they issuing to new subscribers just to be sure.

We waiting to hear if anything more changes come April.
