upgrade adsl upload speed

So I upgraded to a 4meg line yesterday and I notice the upload speed was 512k, isnt it meant to be 640k and who was that guy a while back on the forums who was able to test and see if your exchange could take the faster speed.

oh and while Im at it, can someone get me on the 8meg trial with telkom please ?

Think that 640kbps was just during the "trial" phase, think it is all 512kbps now .

no trial phase AFAIK? The upload speed (and actually, the download speed) depends greatly on your attenuation and noise levels (how far you are from the exchange etc) as well.

So it might be that you only safely sync at those upload speeds.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, I cant sync high enough, anyways it much better than my 384k so I aint complaining.

Max upload is 512, not 640.
