Upgrade from S4 to ?

Hi,

My upgrade is due, and I've been through the S2 up to the S4. The obvious choice would be the S5, but there are now other Android phones out there that might offer a better deal for the next two years.

I'm currently looking at the HTC One M8 and the Sony Experia Z3. The Sony looks good, as I've read about issues with the HTC one camera.

Anything else I should be considering?

The Note 4 is a nice phone, but it's huge and not for everyone.

Out of the 2 you mentioned, the Z3. The htc's camera is really bad if that's a concern.

Z3 is amazing. I have one. Go for it.

Sure, in the same way that a 1991 UNO isn't bad if you're used to walking or horse drawn carriages. If you're used to a Mercedes S-Class and paying S-Class money though, it's a different story.

It's 2014. There is absolutely no excuse to have a 4MP camera. It's literally worse than the One M7 since it lacks OIS which the older model had.

For evidence, just Google some reviews, it's pretty easy.

Or you know, use something with a proper camera like a Samsung or Sony phone.

Between S5 and Z3, I'd say get the Z3, but if size is no issue, the Note 4 is the way to go.

Wouldn't even bother with the Htc One and LG G3, one has a crap camera (HTC) and the other has a CPU/GPU that are too weak to run the high res display (LG).
 
I'm staying on the S4 as long as possible...does everything I need but isn't antediluvian tech. :D

Seeing how the s6 specs just leaked...maybe just chill for a bit & grab that when it launches. S4>6 should be a worthwhile upgrade I'd imagine.
 
I would say hold out if you can. Right now the S5 and M8 and Z3 deliver a minor upgrade to what you have. Thankfully I got my S4 towards the end of the phones life so I will be able to get the S6 when it launches, or the M9, Z4 or G4 for that matter.
 
I owned 4 generations of Samsung's and moved onto Motorola. I am loving the core android experience. Won't touch a bloated Sammy again.

I used an S4 up till last week and wouldn't call the upgrade minor.

Almost night and day difference.

In the same boat.

No way i am touching the sammy with its bloatware withba barge pole.

Z3, February next year for me.
Have the z2 tab. Lightyears ahead of the sammy.
