Upgrade from XP to Vista?

yea well if something goes wrong and the pc wont boot you are going to in a bit of trouble them
i would not upgrade unless you have backed up

Did it once, work well in general but BACKUP.
Add some appps the requires reloading.

Why is an upgrade really? I have vista ultimate on my new gaming PC and its hardly worth the hassle of the upgrade. I would never have put vista on there if I actually had to pay for it.

well its alot more stable, i never have program closing down etc
it looks pretty
the networking is much better

So is XP 64bit, but I wont be going back to Vista any time soon if at all. Way too many annoying prompts and incompatabilities for my liking. Said the same about XP when it first came out, and Vista is still relatively new so we'll see.
Personally I think hardware an software developers are also to blame for alot of reasons why people dont migrate to Vista, and or go back to XP.

I did a Vista downgrade. And then, once I had stopped spitting and steaming, I did a real upgrade, and loaded Linux.

yep i have HEARD of it but nobody i know has ever experienced it so does not worry me

From personal experience I can tell you to stick with Windows XP for now...
