Upgrading, And I Need Help !

As always with PSU's, Quality is far more important than quantity.

A good 380W will always be better than a cheap 500W.

Stick with Antec, Enermax or Coolermaster, then you should be fine.

As JohnnyQ said, since you are not overclocking, you can get away with a cheaper board than the P5K, But I would advise against the standard Intel boards. Too many "issues" with them recently (friend bought 10 and 7 were faulty). on the other hand, you can get a lot more out of your CPU when you overclock (it's no very difficult, lots of people on this forum willing to help out)

I'm sure there is a Gigabyte or MSI board that is cheaper.

On the Graphics my advice is as follows:
go for the 256mb 8600GT (save R200). There is basically no performance difference. Wait 6 months and get a midrange 8800 or 8900 card. But then you would need a new PSU

A good 400-500W PSU will run anything sensible (no dual graphics) that will come out in the next 12 months. My preference would be Enermax (pricey, but the best).

But you made a good start with the specs you gave use. i can't really fault you on anything (damn!)

Also be aware that for about R800 more, you can get a 2.4Ghz Quad core.

There is a Nvidia board that you might be interested in. it's about R200 cheaper than the P5K.

it's The P5N-E SLI. It has all the toys you need for a decent price.

Well in that case the P5K won't be for me cause i will be using nvidia, not in sli( don't see the need for 2 cards on my level ) just a single card.

Will the P5K work with an nvidia card ? or is not reccomended ?

Had a look at the dragontail intel board. doesnt look to bad.
But would like an asus that supports my nvidia, p35 and 1333 fsb.

You guys must just bear with me, we will get there.

Still going with E6550 and Cooler Master Extreme Power 550w

Just can't decide wich mb.

Plan on gettin a geforce 8xxx card sometime.

And realy don't want to buy the same parts i want now in a couple of months cause my graphics card wants more power.

Well, I have a Gigabyte K8N-Pro SLi so I can't really comment :D

Seems like a nice motherboard, though. You'd do well to buy it, I think.

For some reason, SLi is everywhere these days, look at prices, whether SLi is included or not is not a factor at all.

Wll it looks like the P5N-E SLI is basicly the same as the P5K but is made for nvidia wich is exactly what i want..

What do you guys think:

E6550
Asus P5N-E SLI
Cooler Master Extreme 550w psu

The rest i will sort out myself, except for the gfx card, will call on the forum supporters when the time comes.

Extreme Power 550W would be Fine for any single GPU system. An Antec Truepower Trio 550W is only R120 more, but has a 5 year warranty.

CPU is perfect

motherboard I would go for P5K or P5N-E. They will both run your Nvidia graphics and 1333FSB perfectly with no noticeable performance difference. Stay away from Intel. I have had far too many "moderate" gamers regret going for them.

OK so wich one

P5K or P5N-E

???????????

imo, the one has a nice color and the other has a heatpipe

thanx alot for the help guys :D

what website are you checking these from, because you get about 10 versions of ASUS P5K motherboards

It's very simple.

The P5K is newer and has better overclocking and uses the the more reliable solid polymer caps.

The P5N-E is cheaper, but still delivers excellent performance.

P5K if you can afford it.
