Upgrading from 1mb to 4mb DSL

I was told by 10210 (telkom) that its instant - buuut, 6 hours later still 1mb - anyone else waited? If so how long in general?
 
Resetting the modem isn't necessary. When they reset it on their side your modem would automatically try to resync after a couple of seconds.

Did you check your ADSL modem's statistics whether it is still synchronizing at 1024kbps or did you do a speed test online? Because it could be that Telkom already upgraded your ADSL line to 4Mbps, but your ISP account is still limiting you to 1Mbps...

OpenWeb got hold of me this afternoon to confirm upgrade is done - and they mentioned line is still synching at 1mb.

No alternative login details given but I assume they can do it all on the same account.

PS did speed test online have no idea to check what modem is synching at.

I'm taking a guess this is just telkom being telkom

You need to log onto your router and check what speed your line is syncing at.
 
I have to admit the guy I was dealing with seemed.... new... to put it politely, long time on hold and even forgot to ask me security questions - so no doubt a mess up on their side. Will just have to put up with their incompetence till office hours :P
 
Hmmmm maybe your adsl account your connected to is limiting you? if your uncapped?
