Upgrading from Do2 to Do3 - Need advice

We urgently need more speed at our office and 384 is just not cutting it anymore. Has anyone done the upgrade from Do2 (384) to Do3?? Telkom Internet is advising me not to upgrade in the middle of the month because I am going to be charged for the 3GB of data included with DO2 and then also the 5GB of data included in the new DO3 package.

The Telkom lady said I should upgrade my line part during this month and then cancel the DO2 account on the 28th Feb, and the apply for the DO3 account on 1st March to avoid duplicate charges.

Has anyone done it this way and what were you charged?
 
Upgrade the line and go to another service provider for the data. You get cheaper data at other places.
 
I did it at the start of this month!
Great choice and I never looked back.

Only thing is the system was down and I'm still using 3GB and 20 local gigs instead of 5/30GB combo.
I can't really cancel on the 28th and its a sunday and the offices are closed...
 
A friend did it this way at the beginning of this month with no problems.
Best to go to a Telkom Client Service Office though as opposed to the phone.
 
Thanks for all the help guys - phoned just before 10AM and it has been upgraded to 4MB already :)

Because I refuse to part with 30GB of free local SAIX data..... NZB's FTW! :)

Upgrade your line to 4mbps, and dump TelkomInternet as your ISP. There are cheaper ISPs out there... Try Afrihost, SAINET, GConnect or MyISP.

Or wait till March 1st to see the new packages that WebAfrica are launching. TelkomInternet sucks!

I still have my 5GB with Afrihost.... I still believe that the Telkom DO packages have some worth left in them..... but Telkom does suck... although a line upgrade in 45 minutes is pretty darn good!
 
As a side note here - I can't describe the feeling of watching downloads on my now 4MB line compared to what they were doing an hour ago on 384!!!!! I can't describe the excitement!
 
Do3 = R558/month - R413 (4mb line) = R145 for 5GB data = R29/GB ... AND you get 30GB local!!! How is this cheaper at Afrihost?

P.S. I use both :)

Add a figure for buying 30GB of SAIX local into your equation and then compare...... IS local is about as popular as JZ.... SAIX local worls like a charm. Whats the cheapest SAIX local now? R8/GB? That's another R240 per month
