You get mini UPS that output low voltage DC. Then there are the 'big' UPS that have a 230 volt DC. The big UPS can keep the fibre and wifi modems running. Right? They are not only intended for powering down a pc. You could even boil water in a kettle.
My wife's mind is stuck on 'inverter' at the moment.
