And they cannot offer you a loan themselves? What I'd do is get a bank account from FNB and then get a loan either through them or some other bank. Stay away from loan sharks. But if you really want to get burnt, buy a Sunday paper, they advertise in there.

Hi Geriatrix,
I do appreciate the advice but, no Bidvest do not offer loans at this stage, No I cannot get another bank account with another bank because in order to get a loan I then need to produce 3 months bank statements to show my salary going in and I do not have 3 months and I have looked in the Sunday Times, I did not find anything. Unless you mean a different sunday paper, I live in cape town

As far as I can see you have already exhausted most of the regular lenders. All I can suggest is that you offer a written and notarised commitment to pay your creditor a set amount each month until the debt is cleared. If you have no assets, there would be no point in him suing you for the debt, as if it ends up in court, the magistrate will find out what you can afford and make this amount an order of court.

No doubt you have considered this, may I suggest you approach a financial person like an accountant and ask him to draw up a schedule of payments that you can offer your creditor/s.

Unfortunately I am currently unable to offer you the money as I am already owed quite a bit for loans to other people at present.

I don't understand. You said you are employed. Can't you go go to Bidvest and get 3 months bank statements or get your employer to give you your last 3 months pay slips? My wife got an FNB account within 3 days, if I recall. She didn't have to wait 3 months.
:edit Oh, you mean the loan.
Well, get an FNB account first, wait a day and then apply for a loan. Your statements and/or payslips application for the bank account should be evidence enough of income and seeing as you should have a brand spanking new FNB account you should qualify for a loan. Just go talk with a qualified financial adviser at FNB or where ever.

Hi chris,
I wish I could do that but the circumstances dictate differently. I appreciate you trying to assist though, if you know of any other people that MIGHT be able to assist, I would appreciate it. thanks to all for the advice.

Chris,
May I ask of what? you are more than welcometo call me on my cell if I am allowed to post it here and I will gladly explain my circumstances to you.
No, go see a qualified financial adviser. No one here knows you or should give you a personal loan.

I agree with you, I was NEVER asking anyone here to give me a loan, I was aksing for information, I was offering my number because the person (sorry not sure male or female) was saying they were getting suspicious and I simply wanted to allay those suspicions

Sounds fishier with every post. Dude, I'm pretty sure FNB will open an account for you with just your pay slip. Then you can apply for an overdraft or personal loan. It may not be as much as you need immediately, but it would certainly help if you're as desperate as you say.

Very suspicious. I think he wants someone here to give him the cash.
He has no family, no other bank account, no payslip (though employed?).
I smell a con here. I think the mods should delete this thread.
Excuse me sir but I do have a payslip, no-one asked me for one here that I recall.

Just drive around, I see everyday posters advertising cash loans, or is it a Jozi thing? Lots of pawn shops also have schemes going. Same with second hand car dealers, running cash loans on the side.
The problem with R22,000 is that you cannot really offer something in return to be kept for a while, like jewellery or furniture etc. Or can you? If you can, visit the pawn shops and second hand dealers in the shadier parts of town.

Yes they most likely would, but as far as I have been told, you need to produce 3 months bank statements in order to get a loan but I do not have 3 months to wait, as I posted earlier.

Or make a list of all the places offering cash loans and hit ten of them in one day at R2000 each, to stay under the radar.

As far as I have seen, there is nothing like that in Cape Town, but not owning a car is a problem. And no, I do not own ANYTHING of value unfortunately.
