Just curious...

Has anyone ever had a UTI (urinary tract infection) ?

I believe it's more common among women.

Anyone have any advice on anything to relieve the symptoms.

I'm on antibiotics but am still suffering.

I hear cranberry juice is supposed to be good but then others say it makes no difference.

All i know is i don't wish this on my worst enemy.

UTI's are very common among men and women! You can get it from simply holding your wang with your dirty hands! That's why its referred to as an infection. UTI vs STD... two different things!

Well apparently it's because women's urethras are closer to their anus. So bacteria travels up the ureter and into the kidneys and multiplies and causes an infection. That's what i undertood from it anyway.

They reckon not going to toilet when you need to as the bladder stretches and then isn't emptied properly and bacteria isn't disposed of can cause a UTI.

I started with a colon infection and then it turned into a UTI.

Try some CITRO-SODA (Adcock Ingram), good for relief during kidney and bladder infections,. Urinary Alkaliniser and Gastric Atacid.

I did buy some as the pharmacist told me that it helps balance the PH. I stopped taking it though because it made me very nauseas.

Will try again!

Thanks!

There is also something called "Uri Kleer" which contains cranberry and some other stuff. I had a whole batch of UTI's last year following bladder surgery and I really struggled to get rid of them. The end result is that last month I ended up having surgery again and the infection had now moved into the prostate.
Get it seen to.

Yoghurt, cranberry juice, lots of water, citro-soda, avoid tight underwear, avoid g-strings (if you're a girl), avoid synthetic fabrics for your underwear (cotton is the best way to go) and avoid sex until it's cleared up.

Antibiotics can sometimes do more harm than good, especially if not taken in conjunction with interflora or other probiotoics (not a medical fact or suggestion, just a personal experience).

Good luck! I used to get them really often and they truly suck. Once you're in a rhythm re diet / liquids & underwear it should go away....

Well that's the funny thing. Everyone keeps asking me that and my bladder doesn't hurt. But apparently there are various types of UTI's. Not just bladder infection type UTI's.

I've also had that before, years ago and it was awful.

Saw a wash and some capsules in flashy dark pink colours at Dischem for this the other day. Not sure how well they work, though
