  • Voting fraud is extremely rare in the US, and voting by mail is no exception. In the past 20 years, over 250,000,000 votes have been cast by mail, and according to data from the Heritage Foundation, there have been only 1,285 proven cases of voter fraud resulting in 1,100 convictions.
  • Studies done by such organizations as Stanford University have found that voting by mail does not favor voter share or turnout of either major political party. Expanding access to voting by mail is generally considered great for all voters and their ability to exercise their right to vote.

It has never been particularly insecure. Trump is just bullshitting as usual, you do know that but you're just playing his stupid game. He claimed that there were 6 million fraudulent votes in 2016 and he has been totally unable to prove it.

The judge's order, in a high-profile case about vote-by-mail in the battleground state, essentially forces the Trump campaign to try to back up President Donald Trump's false claims about massive voter fraud in postal voting.
"The Court finds that instances of voter fraud are relevant to the claims and defenses in this case," District Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan wrote on Thursday, telling Republicans that they need to provide evidence of fraud to the Democratic Party and the Sierra Club, which are part of the lawsuit.


Ranjan, the judge overseeing the suit, was appointed by Trump.

glad you're not on my company's infosec team then, the holes are obvious and plentiful, in person voting means:
- you have full control over the physical ballot, no forgery / duplication or other nonsense
- you guarantee the one casting the vote is at least a living person, seeing as they have to show up to vote
- you can mark fingernails with ink ala South Africa and ensure nobody who has voted will vote twice

postal votes do not have the same guarantees and are therefore inherently less secure, again, you do not need proof of abuse to know it is less secure

Actually haven't followed what Trump or others are saying on the topic at all, so no I don't "know that", I don't need to know it either in order to apply even basic logic to know one system is less secure than the other.

imo you'd benefit from ignoring the minute details as well, you seem fixated on the whole "it has not yet resulted in mass fraud" mantra as if it means something, it doesn't
