Perhaps we should ask those 7.5 million who have the virus and the 207,000 deceased whether they would prefer no lockdown, or a battered economy, but with their health or a life.
What's the current stats on dying from CovID vs starvation?

That wasn't my opinion that's the view of the experts as well.

If you want to compare SA to Sweden using only superficial death % then sure SA looks better 6.29% vs 2.49% but that does not actually mean all that much. If you want an accurate picture you need to include the age demographic and the % of people exposed to the virus. All of which is skewed in our favour
There we go, a little convenient goal shifting by introducing an age demographic as criteria.

I'll see your age demographic and raise with my abject poverty, lack of housing, electricity, toilets and running water

Death is long term. Doesn't care about the economy.
The lack of economy is death you fool. Once the non Covid deaths surpasses that of Covid then people like you will be to blame.

Don't know.

Do you have the stats of how many in the US have died from starvation in the last 6 months ?
So far 130k people have died because of the lockdowns in he US. That is not starvation as luckily they over produced food. However the thousands of people that lined up for food parcels was worrying. I don't even want to know what it's like in 3rd world countries.

Are you a teenager that you can't understand how these systems are integrated and more complex than just a privileged few working remotely.

Well done. You included some valid parameters. You proved my point for me. Each country is different, but the age grouping is the most prominent, followed by underlying conditions which we have due to the factors you mentioned.

Side note : An interesting study would be to see how much living in sterilized environments weaken your immune system vs poverty which increases your exposure to diseases.

The word of the day is 'tergiversation'.

Tergiversation
noun

1. evasion of straightforward action or clear-cut statement : EQUIVOCATION
2. desertion of a cause, position, party, or faith

Yet not as food secure as to sustain feeding people.

Some articles mostly about children:

Meanwhile, Chilton warned, in America “the public health crisis of increased food insecurity will last for decades as children will bring their major health and social problems from lack of proper food with them into adulthood.

Great to double hunger during a pandemic making food deprived people more susceptible.

But I looking at this through the political lens is a no-win for the orange man, give him the stick.

Don't worry, when you get to my age nothing will surprise you anymore.
Doubtful. I've been surprised by how stupid the average person is since I was young and I'm still surprised. I doubt stupidity is decreasing in today's age. I'll have more wrinkles and less hair is all.

Hey, there’s still your voice breaking, facial hair and your skin clearing up to look forward to as well.

Imagine spending months defending the guy who's trying to eliminate SNAP, and then using starvation as a weapon.

Imagine it.
Yep, I can imagine it. Not everybody gets it that resources are finite. But of course, I also get it that some people want to politicize common sense.

People get their food from a food store. Milk comes from bottles ...
Please don't sleep in a short sleeve t-shirt either.

(if I have to apply your logic)
