My favourite chapter in Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility is the one where Marianne gets sick at Cleveland Estate, but the doctor quickly diagnoses her with a CT scan and immediately puts her on an antibody cocktail and Elinor, Edward and Brandon laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh.

I did and you failed to read the information...
PURE COVID pls.

Actually, don't bother.
Your clinical knowlede is clearly vastly superior to mine.
You would be at complete ease discussing SP02 and SP02-hr levels in critically I'll patients.
You would have spent more time than I, in both ICU and CCU environments, and significantly more in cardiac theatre.

May I suggest you present a dissertation discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the use of cardioplegia in roller-pump vs centrifugal coronary bypass pumps.

You should perhaps consider investigating the relationship between protein and albumin levels in patients who's infection / CRP markers are above 300.

I bow to your superior knowledge, and will forever bask in the glory of your shadow.

Bravo. None of that has any bearing on the initial post.
Proving subject matter knowledge is not the same as intelligence.
If that was my area then I would happily discuss it with you. But I guess you're more of an expert than Dr. Amesh Adalja, a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in Baltimore. Why are you on the forum and not helping to save lives?

What does that then say about yours?

And don't dodge the paragraph from the actual doctor. Just admit you're wrong and we can move on to other topics.
If it doesn't come from Stella Immanuel then I am sorry to say it cannot really be a actual doctor.

Since you seem so knowledgeable, can you maybe break down in what ways Covid is comparable to HIV?

Biden has a 16-point lead according to today's CNN poll:

CNN Poll: Biden expands lead over Trump after contentious debate and President's Covid diagnosis

Joe Biden's advantage over President Donald Trump has expanded and the former vice president now holds his widest lead of the cycle with less than a month remaining before Election Day, according to a new nationwide CNN Poll conducted by SSRS.

Among likely voters, 57% say they back Biden and 41% Trump in the poll that was conducted entirely after the first debate and mostly after the President's coronavirus infection was made public.

November is going to be brutal.

No you missed the point. Those "blood letters" WERE trained professionals. It was actual accepted procedure. Just like drilling holes in skulls, which ironically worked but not for the reasons they believed.

In a 100 years people will look back at our professionals and lament how primitive and misguided they were. Your methods are only as good as what you were taught.
They were not trained in science.

Many blood letters were basically just barbers. The famous red and white stripped poles outside a barber shop was the symbol for blood letting.

It was driven by the belief that purging of blood was a good thing because of observations from menstruation cycles of women.

Only when scientific medicine became an actual thing in the 1600's did blood letting get pushed away in near completeness.

People who were trained saw it for the psudeo science that it was and ended it.

Doctors today are trained on scientific principles, through the scientific method.

The comparison is null and void.
