Trump's power though, now that's absolute

Yeah, and it shouldn't be. I have said numerous times on this forum that the Legislative arm has given up way too much power to the Executive arm. This is no one's fault, and something that has happened slowly over time.

It's a major problem when a president explicitly arrogates unlimited power to himself.

How does expecting balanced reporting "trying to equate media and national leadership responsibilities"?

How is pointing out media hypocrisy "trying to equate media and national leadership responsibilities"?

Balance Em, balance.

Perhaps you could, oh I don't know, take issue with Trump media flip-flopping on the virus and claiming they never said what they said... on tape.

Just one time.

Fox maybe? So many examples of hypocrisy on Fox. Pick one and post it in this forum.

Show folk you're not blindly tribal.

... Or, you know, just keep posting the Federalist or the Daily Caller or the Daily Wire or Gateway Pundit or Mike Cernovich or Andy Ngo as you do.

ROFL Cheetos Snollygoster.

“The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert called out President Donald Trump for his attempt to grab power amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump on Monday tweeted that he gets to decide when it’s time to reopen states that have shuttered nonessential businesses to stop the spread of the virus. And, in a press briefing later in the day, Trump falsely declared his “authority is total.”
“It’s total,” he said. “And the governors know that.”

Governors from both parties quickly refuted that.
And Colbert pointed out a hole in the president’s logic: Trump can’t reopen the states because he’s not the one who shut them down in the first place. Governors did.

Trump has repeatedly put the burden of the response onto governors, insisted the federal government “is merely a back-up for state governments” and at one point even called himself a cheerleader.
And Colbert reminded him of all of that in a “Late Show” rant on Monday night:
Sorry, Chester. Reopening the country is not up to you, because you did not have the balls to shut the country down in the first place. You were the one who said you were just a cheerleader. You put yourself on the sidelines. Cheerleaders don’t get a Super Bowl trophy. In fact, they barely get paid. They’re just supposed to look good and spell words right, and you can’t do either!

I really doubt you thought that through.

And I notice you didn't answer the question ;)

I am not getting into a gun control debate. I own a gun. I shoot it for fun. So, I am not anti-gun.

Your example was an extremely bad one. This is the potential curbing of rights to get guns out of the hands of mentally unstable people (because, you know, the USA has an issue with mass shootings). I don't see Trump running around confiscating guns from the masses on unreasonable grounds.

We don't want people who are mentally ill, people who are sick - we don't want them having guns."
Donald Trump, August 2019
President of the USA

This is not really an unreasonable issue. How it's implemented is another story, and since nothing has been done on this front, it's a moot point.

Ah OK, so you are in fact OK with advocating for removal of firearms before due process is carried out

Just like Daddy :)

Yet I fail to see you mention any of the media's flip flopping, but you want me to now do it for Trump?

You are such a riot.

I'm here Wednesday through Saturday with two shows on Friday.

*facepalm*

Let me take this discussion to your level.

So you are ok with mentally unstable people running around with guns and the government being able to zero before a mass shooting.

Gotcha.

Edit:

I have just taken a look to see if you have spoken out about Red Flag laws and I see you have not said a word. I suppose that's not a Trump thing, so it's a non issue.

Oh, and, btw, what State do you live in?

Oh goodie :) So you are for gun control where the government can come in to your house and remove your firearms on a civil court order case. Interesting take. I wonder where your others Trumpet friends land on this :D

Suggest you read what I said earlier a little more slowly this time round.

You're doing that one plus plus equals one thing again :D Trump is for suspension of due process in civil cases, and because Trump is for it, you're for it :D Lmao

Please explain to me again how this is an example of suspending civil liberties when it has not been implemented?

Let's revisit this when this actually happens, ok? In the mean time, I am sure you would be happy to point me to a post where you breathlessly complain about Red Flag laws.

Please explain to me again how this is an example of suspending civil liberties when it has not been implemented?

Shame, lack of comprehension is sad. Thought it was just your maths, but oh well

Of course you would. Just as you'd ignore the crushing of civil liberties that Trump is OK with too.

This is what happens when you pick up stompies but don't read properly.
