US Election 2020

Trump demands journalists correct stories on the use of tear gas. According to the CDC, it was tear gas.

The truth boils down to an exercise in semantics.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: “Riot control agents (sometimes referred to as “tear gas”) are chemical compounds that temporarily make people unable to function by causing irritation to the eyes, mouth, throat, lungs, and skin.”
And, according to the CDC, “several different compounds” fall under this definition, and are employed by security forces, including military and police, in riot control situations.

Among others, they include chloroacetophenone (CN), more commonly referred to as “mace,” or pepper sprays — in other words, the compound that was deployed in Lafayette Square — and chlorobenzylidenemalononitrile (CS), “one of the most commonly used tear gases in the world,” according to an article in the British Medical Journal.

That's why I like it when white people are cashiers. It means they won't be out there crashing economies and being serial killers. And sending people to gas chambers.
The world needs cashiers. It's a truly undervalued position. It takes a amazing person to work such a shít job for minimum wage in order to provide for their family.

Pay rises would be great.

But thinking that you do it by the force of law is simply wrong.

Thinking you do it by relying on the feelings of greedy f*cks preying on the desperate is simply wrong.

Thinking you are helping poor people by making it illegal to employ them is much worse IMO. (Say hello to Mr 50% unemployment in South Africa with its lovely minimum wage).

And thinking that a bunch of politicians around a table 2000km away can determine the value of someone's labour in an industry that they know nothing about, in an area they know nothing about is clearly much more rational. In fact why don't we have the same politicians determine how much you are paid for whatever you do since those evil capitalists don't understand anything about the economy. In fact since a committee of politicians can definitely know everything there is about the economy why not have them set the price of everything. That way, we will never have to rely on the feelings of evil capitalists ever again.

Hayek demolished the concept at its very foundation. If you want the best outcome for everyone in society, you let people make the choices for themselves.

Don't forget Apartheids. Its tough to orchestrate those pesky Apartheids when you slaving away for da man.

And yet the right have a bitch fit anytime anyone wants to put that value into perspective with a pay rise.
My mistake for using the incorrect word. I meant underappreciated.

As in value, they get paid exactly the right amount, possibly too much because of minimum wage regulation.

Literally nobody gets upset by any of those things.

I like black people being successful, graduating college and being CEO of a company.
That literally means they won't be out committing crimes and they would have less children.

Do you want the successful ones to have less children too or can they have as many as they can afford?

Nothing to see here folks. Please move along...

That's not what qualified immunity is.

Qualified immunity say you can't sue a cop if he does something wrong(a technicality) whilst still acting in good faith.

You can still sue a cop acting in bad faith.

Well, I guess you know more than two folk sitting in Congress, one of whom has a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan's Law School.

I can read. I'm not sure if they can.

I see a lot of virtue signalling from the same people that promote discrimination based on race... but no knee bending from them .

Ah so you want to appreciate them more by - *checks notes* - making sure they don't have a living wage.

Got it. More Conservative nonsense.

And what if I want to sell my labour at less than minimum wage?
