Bloomberg moves into a strong second position despite not contending the first four states...

Biden and Warren are in free fall. Yikes. Warren isn't helping anyone by staying in the race. She should have backed out a while ago and endorsed Sanders. Instead she's tried and failed to smear him and generally acted against the best interests of the progressives she supposedly represents.

Honestly a Bloomberg run wouldn't be the worst thing ever. He has a solid track record in politics.

I want to agree, but I'm a little hesitant as it looks to me as if what Bloomberg has lots of (apart from balls) is money to throw at his nomination.

What is Bernie doing in the Dem party?
Shouldn't he be running as an independent?

Look yeah he's buying his way into the presidency. I like Sanders much more. But it's not as though Bloomberg doesn't have any substance. His track record as mayor of NYC was mostly solid.

He's obviously competent and sane.

What's Trump doing in the Republican party?

What's Trump doing in the Republican party?
Winning.

Why isn't Bernie running as an independent?

Winning.

You just answered your own question. Trump ran as a Republican because that's how he could win. Bernie is running as a Democrat because that's also how he can win. It's simple. Trump was no more a Republican than Bernie is a Democrat.

Fair enough.
The Republicans put up plenty of resistance to Trump. Even my favorite politician Lyndsay didn't like him.

Do you think the dems will accept him?
I dont see Nancy and the other mean girls Shiff. Nader. Schumer etc embracing him.

I don't know if they will accept him. The majority of the Democratic party is very establishment, and there's so much special interest money. Everyone kind of realizes that Bernie Sanders means business about changing the system and I'm pretty sure they don't welcome it.

In a sense it's easier for Republicans to embrace Trump once he was in the fold because his agenda was basically the same as theirs, he just put a populist face on it and spun some bs about draining the swamp while filling his cabinet with swamp creatures. McConnell, Lindsey Graham, et al are having a field day.

Dunno about Lyndsey. he looks to me like a man who's in hell.
The complete 180 in his Trump-stance smells to high heaven.

The biggest spanner Comrade Sanders would put in the works is that he would put an end to the Democrat war machine. Trumpy did a similar thing with the Republicans. For better or for worse, Trump has done much less military foreign interventions than both the Messiah or Dubbya.

Secret Service has paid rates as high as $650 a night for rooms at Trump’s properties

President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service for the rooms agents use while protecting him at his luxury properties — billing U.S. taxpayers at rates as high as $650 per night, according to federal records and people who have seen receipts.

Those charges, compiled here for the first time, show that Trump has an unprecedented — and largely hidden — business relationship with his own government. When Trump visits his clubs in Palm Beach, Fla., and Bedminster, N.J., the service needs space to post guards and store equipment.

Trump’s company says it charges only minimal fees. But Secret Service records do not show that.
At Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club, the Secret Service was charged the $650 rate dozens of times in 2017, and a different rate, $396.15, dozens more times in 2018, according to documents from Trump’s visits.

And at the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, the Secret Service was charged $17,000 a month to use a three-bedroom cottage on the property, an unusually high rent for homes in that area, according to receipts from 2017. Trump’s company billed the government even for days when Trump wasn’t there.
