It wasn't only Democrats who seemed unsatisfied with Trump's decision, though. While the president said he no longer had confidence in Linick, an Obama appointee, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), co-chair of the Whistleblower Protection Caucus, said Saturday that Congress is entitled to a more thorough explanation, noting that inspectors general are "crucial in correcting government failures and promoting the accountability that the American people deserve." He said Trump's reasoning, as it stands, is "simply is not sufficient."

On Friday we had the space force flag clumsiness in the oval, and a space force logo which some graphic designer copy-pasted from a Star Trek design.
Later, Kayleigh McEnany held up a bound pandemic document that was supposed to be better than the Obama admin's pandemic playbook - presumably because it was bound - but keen-eyed folk noticed the bound Trump playbook was actually the Biological Incident Annex to the National Response Framework which Obama signed out before he left office in January.
This admin is too lazy or inept to do the work, but that doesn't stop them trying to take the credit for the work other folks have done.
Logos, playbooks, VA Choice, Ford in Michigan, Exxon on the gulf coast, Intel in Arizona.
Too lazy. Too inept.

Do you see the problem with the time line there of comparing the two? 1982, 1995? There was no design for SFC before that. There was a UFP design, based on UN.
The star trek delta pins(com badges) designed in 1964 is based on, in Genes own words, the NASA astronaut pins designed

One must remember that the Pentagon has generated such stories for most of its existence since the end of WW2.
The infamous "bomber gap" which was used to say the US lagged massively behind the Soviets in terms of strategic bombers was used to influence Congress to expand the defense budget. Meanwhile the US was way ahead of the Soviets in reality.
To purport that because the US could lose a war with China, means that China is pivoting towards war with the USA, massively under estimates that symbiotic relationship that China has with the USA. China's economy is inextricably linked to the USA and cutting that off would only serve to spite itself even more.
China does pose a risk to Taiwan. It has since the 1950's.
I do agree that the Chinese PLAN forces would extract heavy tolls on the US Navy, as its A2AD strategy, developed since their embarrassment at the hands of the US Navy in 1995, during the Third Taiwan Crisis, made them realise, if you deny access to the US Carrier force, you can achieve limited strategic success.
I found it strange that Tim ignored and did not comment on the fact that Obama identified the strategic risk posed by China to South-East Asia (Taiwan, the Spratly's etc) years ago and pivoted the US Strategic focus towards China from 2012 onwards.
So the video comes across as someone who just woke up to some old news after a 2 month coma, long after the Cuban Missile Crisis ended and is running around the street screaming the Russians are coming, but I get it. China is a hot topic currently and what better way to generate content than to cloud it with the spectre of global thermonuclear war.
