The same exact excuse was used by the National Guard at the Kent State shooting.

Investigations later proved the protestors had no gun and a Guardsmen was the first to fire with his handgun, which led to the others starting to fire off their rifles.

And just yesterday I was told the Kent State shooting had no relevance here.

The same exact excuse was used in the Boston massacre in 1770. So what?

Cerebus made a blanket statement that police are killing innocent protesters.

That is obviously false. Irrespective of what spooked these police officers or those at the Kent state shooting.

Yes the cops are allowed to stand their ground and defend themselves, especially if a crowd charge at them.

I don't know how you find that confusing.

Please post video of protestors 'charging' cops.

The common thread in everything I've seen is police in riot gear, with shields, massing and then advancing on protestors under cover of rubber bullet fire and tear gas.

I specifically said that would be the only valid reason I can think of for the cops to start firing at a crowd and I used Marikana as an example. I did not say that is what happened. It clearly implies that the police firing live ammo into a crowd for any lesser reason is wrong. (Which is still the case with the police claiming someone shot at them first)

You seem to jump into the conversation selectively without knowing what's happening.

You literally red herring-ed cerebus' David McAtee story with charging protesters and Marikana and when I tackle the fallacy you're all 'don't jump into the conversation selectively'.

Cerebus made a incorrect random blanket statement that police are killing innocent protesters, which is obviously BS, because he didn't like it when I told him there was no need to call in the military for one guy screaming in another guys face, when there's obviously now a need for it.

Cerebus provided an example.
I said it's unclear what exactly happened, but it does seem like the police was too trigger happy.

His blanket statement that police are killing innocent protesters is still wrong.
