Haha what a cover up. I'm sure people consider Sandton and Soweto to be equally dangerous right?
Intellectually dishonest again. How is the relationship between Seweto and Sandton the same?

Even tho the base line was rock bottom to grow the economy after the recession, Obama's efforts was still pretty dismal.

Using your analogy I can blame Obama for the trend & rise in national debt over the last decade.

So what is the debt sitting at? If he's taking the credit for the market, then I've got news about the debt..

First. As Randhir pointed out... Sworn testimony. Perhaps if I say it often enough you’ll eventually make the distinction. Perhaps.

Second. Merrick Garland. 293 days without the courtesy of an interview, let alone a hearing. Why the rush to get it done in the 35 days before the midterms? Know something we don’t? Is it a wave? Is it blue?

I have studied and practiced law. I have drafted such "sworn statements". Quite a few actually. So, please, wax some more lyrical about "sworn testimony" to me.

I don't really have time to go into depth on the allegations and evidence on the table. There is no point to this discussion in any event, as people have made up their minds and there is nothing new on the table.

Oh, I don't know. Kav starting a fight with someone he thought was Ali Campbell... at a UB40 concert... is a bit of a laugh.
I've seen them twice and, wouldn't you know, didn't start a fight with Ali or Astro or Duncan or Earl or Norman on either occasion.

And this is relevant how? Maybe we should just carry on talking about Renate Alumni, or boofing?

LOL. Remember when Renate and boofing were in Kav’s own yearbook? Allegations. Good times.

Also, I hate to have to do this, but when I said I’d give you the benefit of the doubt, I meant conservative-lite... The inability to recognise tongue-in-cheek means I’mma have to slide the scale a little right to not-so-lite-conservative. Sorry.

Well done to Trump for renegotiating NAFTA!!

/Dons flame suit

I heard that afterward he was snacky, so he went into the WH kitchen, found lettuce, tomato and bacon in the fridge, and now the world has the LTB sandwich.

But what actually changed? Is it better now?

Yes, jobs for manufacturing etc that were killed by it in the 80's/90's will now move back into the US. Sure a full breakdown of it will come in time

And it kind of supports the unionisation of Mexico. Lol. How commie of them

Improved labor and environmental rights. The USMCA makes a number of significant upgrades to environmental and labor regulations, especially regarding Mexico. For example, the USMCA stipulates that Mexican trucks that cross the border into the United States must meet higher safety regulations and that Mexican workers must have more ability to organize and form unions. Some of these provisions might be difficult to enforce, but the Trump administration says it is committed to ensuring these happen — a reason U.S. labor unions and some Democrats are cheering the new rules.

Indeed, higher safty regulations and no more slave wages(people being able to fight abusive employers etc), oh the horror... hopefully it'll put an end to the child labour too?

Will have to see full break down before continuing discussion, but from summaries, all good imo

(Also, iirc, dems were going to do this too? sanders was all against nafda? hillary was going to renegotiate too? dems all behind it being renegotiated for years cos was a **** deal, not sure why obama never did it? But I guess there will now be an issue because trump did it, right?*)

Edit: *Just to be clear, not directed at you.. refering to twittards etc

Seems like a good deal overall.

Grassley applies for farm bailout money

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has applied for farm bailout money from the federal government, his spokesman has confirmed with Local 5.

"Grassley participates in farm programs for which he is legally eligible, including this program, like every other farmer," said Michael Zona with Grassley's Senate office. "Sen. Grassley receives no special treatment and is always transparent about his participation."

It's not clear how much money Grassley and his farm will receive from the federal government.

"Payments are based on yields for the current crop year, which isn’t over yet," said Zona. "Grassley, like all participants, won’t know the amount until he turns in his final yield numbers."

Grassley has been a vocal proponent for open markets for farmers. He has frequently stated that farmers want trade, not aid.

https://slate.com/news-and-politics...character-witness-arrested-for-bar-fight.html

One of the individuals who has been recently vouching for Brett Kavanaugh’s character in the press is Chris Dudley, a Yale classmate of Kavanaugh’s who went on to play in the NBA.

Well, the New York Times reported Monday night that Kavanaugh and Dudley were questioned by New Haven, Connecticut police after a 1985 bar fight which a witness said that Kavanaugh instigated by throwing ice at another patron who’d cursed at him. (Yale’s campus is in New Haven.) Dudley then allegedly smashed a beer glass on the man’s head, opening a wound on his ear that required treatment at a hospital. (At the time, Dudley denied to police that he’d attacked the man and Kavanaugh declined to say whether he’d thrown ice.)

Remember when the Republicans high five Clinton for getting a blow job then said "small government, bro, what happens in the bedroom, stays in the bedroom"?

Yeah, good times.

Worth pointing out that Kavanaugh was part of the Starr inquiry that spent $2m to find out if the Clintons had Vince Foster killed and wrote a memo indicating how important it is to find out exactly where Clinton ejaculated. :)

In other news.

Dow Jones up 192.9 after the trade deals with Canada & Mexico.

Cant wait for Obama's next speech so he can try to take credit.

You mean the trade uncertainty that he introduced got reversed. Good job.

Also, you know this new deal is basically NAFTA + TPP, right? Both of which he called disasters before, and which Obama negotiated, or maintained, in the case of NAFTA.

Even tho the base line was rock bottom to grow the economy after the recession, Obama's efforts was still pretty dismal.

Uhm, no. There was a very real chance that it could have gone into an extended depression.

Obama did do it.

Trump’s ‘New’ Canada-Mexico Trade Deal Has All Kinds Of Improvements? Thanks, Obama.

But the majority of the “new” items in the deal announced late Sunday were negotiated over a period of years by the Obama administration as part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. That agreement included a dozen nations in the Americas, Southeast Asia, Japan and Australia, reducing trade barriers and increasing environmental and labor standards.

In fact, at least half of the men and women standing behind Trump during his Rose Garden ceremony praising the new deal were the same career service staff who negotiated nearly identical provisions in TPP, which Trump had railed against.

“Ironically, he called them horrible negotiators when running for office,” said Trevor Kincaid, the spokesman for the United States Trade Representative’s office under Obama, adding that the USTR team was first-rate then and remains first-rate today. “It’s really the same with a new name. It’s basically the ‘22 Jump Street’ of trade deals.”

This is from April 2017 where it already patently clear that this is what's happening.

Donald Trump wants to rewrite NAFTA, but someone else already did. Here’s how it went down.

This is well-documented history. Because the Obama administration already renegotiated NAFTA.

There was never a formal announcement of “NAFTA Modernization Talks.” There were no presidential tweets mocking the original agreement. But behind the scenes, President Barack Obama’s negotiators spent more than three years haggling and battling to update and upgrade the 1994 deal, and they eventually got a lot of what they wanted. Canada reluctantly agreed to give American farmers modest but unprecedented access to its tightly protected dairy industry; Mexico grudgingly agreed to labor reforms with more bite than NAFTA’s toothless union protections. The new deal opened up service sectors like insurance, accounting and express delivery where the United States tends to excel, along with e-commerce and other digital industries that didn’t exist when NAFTA was born. The United States also secured new restrictions on government-owned businesses, new protections for intellectual property and new safeguards for the environment.

See why Trump's twitter feed is a bad bubble to be in...?
