FYI those players didn't choose to join a tribe
They did, the millisecond they signed a lucrative NFL contract to regularly put themselves in a position where they KNOW the anthem will be played and they KNOW what they are expected to do.

They chose that tribe for sure.

So it was disrespectful to the NFL, not the flag or the anthem as this was a custom that the NFL expected to be met?

No headphones and in an open plan space so can't watch the video. I can see they are quoting a member of the democrat party's opinion though: Steven Mulroy

So still a lefty opinion, reported on by Fox news, to their credit.

You know what would be just wonderful? If Pitbull, or you, or anyone on the right could post some counter-facts, from any source, showing how the opinions of all the journalists, legal experts, constitutional scholars, and so on in these interviews are false, and Trump isn't actually advocating due process revocation as everyone seems to think he is. Hell, all I posted were the links from the first page of Google results. Surely you care about facts and you aren't just dismissing sources you don't like purely because you think they're leftist? I would never have imagined you to be so intransigently biased. :sneaky:

The NFL and the vast majority of their fans choose to respect the flag and anthem. Not doing the same as a representative of the NFL during an official NFL ceremony / custom is disrespectful to the flag, the anthem, the fans and the NFL.

You know what protesting is? Disrespecting customs. Suck it up.

Geesus, don't do this...

I asked you a question, it's pretty simple and straight forward. I never claimed it to be disrespectful, I asked what the protest is about? That is in relation to the post OD made where Pence leaving is costing tax payers $300k.

Then why are you asking me and quoting things that are only tangentially related to OD's post?

Just answer the question. Why do you guys need to obscure straight questions with odd reasoning?
Why should I? You haven't shown any good faith in this thread, you bitch about "libtards" at every opportunity, you crow and preen like a 5 year old who has won at marbles and yet suddenly you get all precious because people don't want to answer you when quote them out of context.

To paraphrase - The protest was about the feeling the black people generally still get a raw deal in the way they are treated by the government and US society as a whole.

Huh?

What are you talking about?
I thought you weren't interested in my and NarrowBandFTW's discussion? The conversation (which you claimed to be ignoring) was about an expectation that was created when the players signed up for the NFL.

Just say if you want to rather stoke your libtard peen instead of debating. I will then not engage with you. It's not hard...

LOL, and cray does it again :D

Pointing out how skewed your narrative is. Irrespective of your discussion with NBFTW or anyone else.

I'm afraid there aren't "counter-facts", only facts and fiction. All the deluded sources that yell and scream about how Trump is against due process for immigrants are peddling fiction. They ignore the fact that ICE agents have the legal discretion to do so and they ignore the fact that they were given that discretion over the last 10 years, pre-dating Trump.

So here's some facts for you, mostly legal opinions and summaries, I'm sorry they don't include trigger words for your echo chamber:
Sub-Federal Enforcement of Immigration Law: An Introduction ... - MDPI
Enforcement of the Immigration Laws to Serve ... - Homeland Security

Note how even while some legal opinions raise the question of whether this should be the case, none of them argue that ICE agents do not have the legal right to do so. They argue "should they have the right".

You know what freedom of association is? Severe drops in viewership, sponsorship and revenue for the NFL. And they will not suck it up, they will make the idiots who caused it suck it up ...

That's fine, then let them deal with it in their own way. It's got nothing to do with the President. He has zero right to prevent them from peacefully protesting.

Sure, he has zero right to prevent them from doing it. He certainly does not have to stand there and watch them do it either (nor does Pence).

Any debate that involves people throwing out grade school insults as if they are the cleverest thing in the world really isn't worth my time....

Don;t moan at me, it was NarrowBandFTW that claimed the expectation was created when they joined the NFL... if you don't like that point then take it up with him.

Like I care?

You guys are playing dumb on purpose. Yet you're the one who says: "debate in good faith". You knew full well what the protest is about, yet play dumb in order to lure NBFTW into something you can argue semantics of. You guys are so tilted as of late it's hilarious as fark!

Yeah it's much better for them to stage obscenely expensive publicity stunts on the taxpayer's dollar.
