You have to admit how ludicrous it is to claim to be of certain heritage only because 6 generations ago your mother had a one night stand with a native Indian or worse probably raped by him...

No doubt, i dont care much for Warrens claim on watever she thinks she is, Croatian, Persian or Cockatiel. It doesnt interest me much, the usual Trumpsplaining has been amusing though.

One of my ancestors was a Western ranch pioneer. When I was 14 they found a trove of his letters in my great grandfather's house and they dedicated a museum to him in New Mexico. My father's family are very proud of their heritage, even as far back as 200 years and diluted beyond recognition. I believe another ancestor of mine was on the Mayflower. At my father's second wedding his then-wife had them both wear kilts, even though I would imagine they left Scotland over 100 years ago.

I think the big mistake that Warren made is that it's such a geeky thing to take a blood test because you're so triggered by Trump's racist taunts that you think you'll prove some kind of misguided point by showing that you are actually descended from Indians. Trump doesn't give a ****, he'll just carry on trolling her and now his army of trolls have some new fodder. It's an own goal.

Nothing wrong with one's heritage and being proud of it or not.

My issue is with claiming to be of a set "race" because of a little spec of DNA somewhere saying you had said race in your DNA 16 generations ago. But I do agree with you.

The problem is that Trump initially said "i didn't say that" in his first response to the reporter when asked about the bet when he clearly did say he would bet her. I suspect that most of the "liberals" (you're so liberal with that word) are rather jumping in on that than supporting her. In fact, i haven't seen one person support Warren in this thread.
