https://slate.com/news-and-politics...ld-separations-would-be-unconstitutional.html

For Plaintiffs, the government actors responsible for the “care and custody” of migrant children have, in fact, become their persecutors. … These allegations sufficiently describe government conduct that arbitrarily tears at the sacred bond between parent and child, and is emblematic of the “exercise of power without any reasonable justification in the service of an otherwise legitimate governmental objective[.]” Such conduct, if true, as it is assumed to be on the present motion, is brutal, offensive, and fails to comport with traditional notions of fair play and decency. At a minimum, the facts alleged are sufficient to show the government conduct at issue “shocks the conscience” and violates Plaintiffs’ constitutional right to family integrity. Accordingly, Defendants’ motion to dismiss Plaintiffs’ due process claim is denied.

This administration seems curiously replete with swampy muppets.

Few more swampy than Pruitt.

Scott Pruitt enlisted an EPA aide to help his wife find a job — with Chick-fil-A

Three months after Scott Pruitt was sworn in as head of the Environmental Protection Agency, his scheduler emailed Dan Cathy, chief executive of the fast-food company Chick-fil-A, with an unusual request: Would Cathy meet with Pruitt to discuss “a potential business opportunity”?

A call was arranged, then canceled, and Pruitt eventually spoke with someone from the company’s legal department. Only then did he reveal that the “opportunity” on his mind was a job for his wife, Marlyn.

“The subject of that phone call was an expression of interest in his wife becoming a Chick-fil-A franchisee,” company representative Carrie Kurlander told The Washington Post via email.

That they required Chick-fil-A's legal department to explain to the head of the EPA (and former Attorney General) that he's busy doing illegal schit is staggering.

No grift too small, though.

EPA Head Scott Pruitt Spent $3,230 on Pens and Journals

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt has made yet another expensive purchase drawing criticism from the public. The spending this time? Thousands on personalized office supplies.

The order included personalized pens and journals, specifically 12 silver personalized pens with the EPA seal and Pruitt’s signature on them costing $1,560 alone, The Washington Post reported. The other items, including personalized journals, totaled $1,670.

Even got told off because he uses the White House mess hall too often.

Another mess for Pruitt: Overstaying his White House welcome at lunch

D-Day is example of America's 'strong relationship with German government', Trump State Department spokeswoman says

A State Department spokeswoman has been ridiculed for citing the D-Day invasion as an example of America’s “very strong relationship” with Germany.

“We have a very strong relationship with the government of Germany,” Heather Nauert said.

“Looking back in the history books, today is the 71st anniversary of the speech that announced the Marshall Plan. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the D-Day invasion. We obviously have a very long history with the government of Germany, and we have a strong relationship with the government of Germany.”

During the D-Day invasion on 6 June, 1944, around 156,000 British, American, Canadian and other Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to establish a foothold in Nazi-occupied France.

America's had a strong relationship with Al-Qaeda since 9/11.

The Trump administration. You don't have to be stupid to work there. No wait, you do.

Utter depravity. Can't get asylum because the forced labour they made her do on the threat of death counts as "material support" for terrorists. :wtf:

Woman's forced labor for Salvadoran guerrillas means she must leave US, court rules

She was kidnapped by Salvadoran guerillas three decades ago, watched her husband be killed and forced to cook and clean for the militants. Now she can't stay in the US — because that was supporting terrorists, a court says.

The main appellate body of the immigration courts issued a divided opinion Wednesday with broad implications, finding that a woman from El Salvador is ineligible for status in the US because her 1990 abduction and forced labor amount to "material support" of a terrorist organization.

According to the court documents, the woman was kidnapped by the guerrillas in El Salvador and made to do the cooking and cleaning "under threat of death." She was also "forced to witness her husband, a sergeant in the Salvadoran Army, dig his own grave before being killed."

The thing is the left isn't making this a special case to help this women who really might need help. They are throwing stuff like this up as to why people should accept illegals in general. Which is completely ridiculous.
You are pretending to have good intentions, but at the end of the day you are only pushing an political agenda. That will only cause more polarization.

No, you're just strawmanning as usual.

You don't even know what that means.

Saying that the left are using this case as an argument for why people should accept illegals in general is a strawman tactic - just like claiming that the left thinks Trump is a literal Hitler. Nobody is saying that, not even remotely.

I was wondering when Trump was going to ask that Russia be allowed back into the G7 (8).

https://apnews.com/baa5489706eb44c2...t:-Trump-says-Russia-should-be-allowed-in-G-7

Trump/Russia, that some folk here say isn't a thing, is all about Trump trading sanctions relief for business opportunities in Russia... Even if it happens in plain sight, just like this, they'll be putting on their bobby socks and sports bras and grabbing their pompoms to come do their 'nothing to see here' dance directly.

And you don't see how Russia in the G8 is a good thing?

Seems to me the only thing really stopping them being in the G8 is their continued presence in Crimea. Vlad could just hand it back to Ukraine and ta-dah!

The people of Crimea made it pretty clear were they want to belong. I kinda value that sort of democracy above the US warmongering.

Remember that time the referendum questionnaire had keeping the status quo as an option..? What, what's that? It didn't! There's more you say... Russian troops were in the country at the time! Woah!

So, pretty clear eh?
