His 'the notes are concocted' attempted defence is the same line they tried against Moore's accuser, to poor results.

The fact that they're also arguing in the alternative, aka the Bart Simpson defence, is revealing.

It's both "it never happened!" and "he was only 17, so what's the biggie?".

My absolute favourite irony that MAGA folk will just not get, is that Kav, with his boss Ken Starr, was all in on pinning a 1978 rape allegation on Bill... in 1998... you know, during the *real estate investigation* that pinged Bill for lying about a blow job.

Kavanaugh eagerly spent $2 million on seriously investigating whether the Clintons had Vince Foster killed. Miraculously after Bush became president his position switched pretty quickly to 'presidents shouldn't be indicted' and 'presidents need more power and less oversight'. Weird!

Also, Lindsey Graham worked on the impeachment of Clinton and was vociferous when he became a Congressman that you don't actually even need crimes to impeach, just morally dubious behaviour. Funny how quickly his tune has changed, as he now says lying to the FBI isn't a big deal.

Republicans desperate for the 2019 version of the post Anita Hill Year of the Women in ‘92... We live in a #MeToo world and these dinosaurs are going to misplay this so badly.

She’ll be credible and he’ll prevaricate like he did last week... It’s going to be a train crashing into gas fire in a dumpster.

Hope these idiots keep up the good work they’re doing turning off Republican voters... 49 days to go to the midterms.

We are alumnae of Holton-Arms School, and we are writing in support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, a fellow Holton graduate.
We believe Dr. Blasey Ford and are grateful that she came forward to tell her story. It demands a thorough and independent investigation before the Senate can reasonably vote on Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to a lifetime seat on the nation's highest court.

Dr. Blasey Ford's experience is all too consistent with stories we heard and lived while attending Holton. Many of us are survivors ourselves.

President Trump on Monday ordered the Justice Department to release documents and emails from four former FBI officials and one current Justice Department official as well as documents that led to the surveillance of his former aide Carter Page.

“The President has directed the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to provide for the immediate declassification of … the June 2017 application to the FISA court in the matter of Carter W. Page,” the White House said in a statement.

Trump also ordered the release of “all FBI reports of interviews with Bruce G. Ohr prepared in connection with the Russia investigation; and all FBI reports of interviews prepared in connection with all Carter Page FISA applications,” it continued.

“In addition … Trump has directed the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to publicly release all text messages relating to the Russia investigation, without redaction, of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr.”

With traders waiting with bated breath for hours, moments ago the White House announced that it has imposed tariffs on approximately $200 billion worth of imports from China, effective September 24.

The tariffs will start at 10% until the end of the year, but in an unexpected twist, are set to rise to 25% on January 1, 2019, in what is worse case scenario than what the market had been pricing in, namely a 10% rate indefinitely.

Trump also warns that if China takes any retaliatory action "against US farmers or other industries", the US will immediately pursue "phase three", and impose an additional $267 billion in tariffs on Chinese imports.

1: I know we haven't seen any solid evidence that she even spoke to her therapist in 2012 about it
2: Sure there's a chance she presented things to her therapist in a certain way that may not be entirely true, it's therapy after all, that's among the things therapists help people to deal with

Whether I think she lied in 2012 is irrelevant at this stage, the timing is obviously not a coincidence though and should have everyone questioning the motive of the allegation.

Well no **** sherlock, it's not a coincidence. She stated that she did not come forward with the allegations until it was clear that he was on track to becoming nominated as a Supreme Court justice. It's entirely reasonable that a sexual assault victim would choose not to upend their lives and subject themselves to intense scrutiny and the kind of detestable mud-slinging that you engaged in here. I'd also want to put the past behind me and forget about it.

Hell I wish I was a member of the democrat party, their sheep sure are easy to convince, I'd be a god :D
