I get where you're coming from. I really do... but riddle me this... Did you argue as vociferously for Bill Clinton when Juanita Broaddrick accused him of a 1978 rape in 1997?
In 1997 I had much more important things to do, mostly trying to concentrate on school work while pining after the hottest girl I've ever seen, who went on to become a cover model for both Cosmo's Lingerie edition and Sports Illustrated's swimwear edition.

That was hell, but no, slick Willy Clinton wasn't even on my radar.
Come to think of it I only learned he's a rapist when his wife ran for nomination the first time, until that day I thought he was only a perv who got a blowie from an intern.

Amazing. So, you believe Broaddrick... but Dr Ford, yeah, you know, it was years ago, hearsay, blah, blah, blah.

Do you see how this is not a good look for you?

Except Broaddrick isn't hazy on the details and she isn't the only one accusing slick willy rapist of his crimes. Then there's also the fact that Clinton was already widely known as one who can't keep it in his pants.

Even so it would need to be tested in court, I'd bet it has a better chance than Ford has though.

None of which would apply, but of course I'm not a lawyer or judge, just my interpretation.

For your next trick, let us assume all hearsay is allowed in this case, find me a single rape conviction where hearsay was the only evidence ... there would still be no point in pursuing the case if it cannot yield a conviction.

We aren't dealing with a court of law here. Kavanaugh isn't going to prison. We're evaluating his suitability for a lifetime appointment to a position that will see him casting a deciding vote on issues that will inter alia affect the reproductive rights of millions of women, or the ability of the president to be convicted of a crime.

Excellent, thanks for admitting it. Now go tell all the slanderers that.

You realise if you don't have enough proof to convict the man you ALSO don't have enough proof to kill his nomination right? You can't just make false accusations and hope people change their vote.

You certainly can derail his appointment, why not? If I was in line for a CEO position and a woman came forward and made a credible accusation that I'd attempted to rape her, I'd expect them to pass on me.

Again, no. She denied the rape until she didn’t and the chaps pushing the issue in ‘97 were Ken Starr and, wouldn’t you know, Brett Kavanaugh.

Ah so you're one of those the ends justify the means types. No. Just no. Do you not see any irony whatsoever in trying to derail the appointment of someone who's very job will be to apply the law and serve justice by using tactics that would not pass the test in a court?

I don't see any irony. Job hiring isn't bound by the same standards of proof as law courts. It's absurd to suggest otherwise. They also have concerns around reputation that the law cares nothing about.

Hiring ... for the position of supreme court judge ... yes there is irony.

And once he gets appointed anyway this detour in evidence-free slander town will amount to nothing more than a delay tactic.

In fact just the opposite, the Supreme Court should take the utmost care to ensure the unimpeachability of its members' character. Clarence Thomas remains a stain on the court, and I'm afraid it's going to happen again because of the unprincipled hypocrisy we're seeing today.

Okay so you think she made a false accusation of attempted rape. Thanks for clearing that up.

I emulated OrbitalDawn's post to demonstrate how silly it is.

The need for evidence makes her rape accusation false?

Two things.

First, let's look at this: "in the basis of law (the facts) there is nothing to pursue as the issue has prescribed"

(the facts) are that you're only partially correct. At a federal level the statute of limitations *has* expired... It does after five years... But... This happened in Montgomery County, Maryland, and wouldn't you know, Maryland has *no* statute of limitations for rape, attempted rape or assault. Arguing there is nothing to pursue here ignores (the facts) completely.

I hear you. So why has a case not been opened in Maryland to deal with it like any other sexual offense? If Ford needs to make her voice heard and not turn it into a political circus, but one of justice, should would have opened a case against him. In Maryland, this would probably have been a fourth degree sexual offense which carries a prison term of no more than 1 year and to be registered on the sexual offenders database. But, as Kavanaugh is a minor, I don't know how this would have played out if he were found guilty. Why has this not been done?

So they create false flags to prevent the appointment. Dirty Democrat tricks indeed.

Well, as you know, she’s already asked for the FBI to investigate... Donnie Treason can ask them to do it and the will. So there is that.
The rest of your post presumes she *won’t* press charges down the road... We’ve agreed there is no statute on the attack in Maryland and eliminating a timeline where this happens at a state level, at a future date, might bite future-you in the you-know-where.

Ok, as this is an appointment that holds power, the burden of proof is lower as it is a political matter, and not a legal one. In your mind, Ford has made a compelling case, which case consists of 36 year old memories, a lie detector test, and hearsay evidence. This is now the standard of evidence we require before we destroy a man's life?

This is a template for the next nominee.

Like I said, no one wins.

Why has this not been done?
Because it was never fact nor did she even know what was going on around her or who it was as maybe she also enjoyed the party too and probably also had a few, so she nearly scored, if the real culprit (if he even exists), was not too drunk.
Lots of if's and buts but lets rather believe her than him. It suits the Democrats and the anti Trump MyBB brigade.

Hi anonymous internet poster, a woman no less. Please open your Twitter machine and point it to #WhyIDidntReport

Take some time to read the responses, from both women and men.

Have a great weekend.

Do you dispute I am a woman? I am confused.

I have already read a report, thank you. You making assumptions again about how I view women's rights issues. Her not reporting it is not proof of the incident. She has not come out with her own reasons either.

Jeez that's some spin. He will never vote to affect the reproductive rights of women. He might vote to stop them from killing their unborn babies by using abortion as a form of birth control.

Some SJW's see and spin everything in their own deluded ways.

But each to their own.
