Oh. My bad. You want to put me into a box because I don't support Hillary Clinton either?
What? Literally no one mentioned Clinton. What does this have to do with her? I don't think she was anyone here's first choice, at all.

You believe I am not being impartial as I am judging Ocasio-Cortez too harshly because she is a woman?
No, I think you're using a double standard in judging AOC, given the context of the kind of people the Republican party elevate.
She owned up to the mistakes afterward. Show me one time Trump has admitted he's mistaken on the copious BS he spouts. Or any other senior conservative politician.

I just want to point out the following on Kavanaugh vs Ford:
- Feinstein sat on the letter since July and it came out right before his confirmation. Feinstein and all the other Senators have had confidential meetings and discussions with Kavanaugh. Why was this not even mentioned then at the very least? There are three simple answers: (1) Feinstein thought that the accusations were not credible, (2) she thought that they were not relevant and/or (3) she wanted to use it to torpedo a man's career and allow the Democrats to try win back Senate majority, which would mean they would be able to reject Trump's next nominee.
- If the letter was released in July, it would have given the Republicans enough time to find another candidate.
- Ford's allegations were leaked to the press without Ford's consent. How is that for irony?
- Ford cannot provide any further evidence to corroborate her story. She self admitted that the detail around the alleged incident is very hazy. Ford cannot give the address or the date of the alleged incident, or any other details. What exactly is there to investigate? The FBI has already done 8 separate investigations into Kavanaugh. If they have not uncovered anything by now, what do you think this will achieve? Here is Mark Judge's response: https://www.vox.com/2018/9/18/17876...vanaugh-mark-judge-sexual-assault-allegations
- On top of that, Ford went for a lie detector test and had an attorney appointed in August. All before all of this came out. Not really the actions of a woman that wanted to remain anonymous. Who is paying for all this as well?
- Discussing the alleged incident with a third party is not proof that the incident occurred, and that her interpretation of what happened is completely correct.
- Kavanaugh has many, many women come forward supporting him (ex girlfriends and female colleagues). If this is a pattern of behaviour, more women would have come forward by now as demonstrated in the #MeToo movement.
1. Or maybe she was grappling how to deal with a serious allegation in a sensitive context? Referring it to the FBI doesn't seem unreasonable given they are responsible for background investigations. Given that she hasn't opposed any of Trump's other nominees procedurally, why would she just randomly oppose this one?
2. What do you mean "enough time"? What is the rush? There is no deadline. There is literally no reason to rush this through.
None. They can do this whenever the hell they want, they control the Senate. They have a laundry list of nominees lined up by the conservative lobby group they used to decide for them.
3. Not sure that changes anything.
4. Judge is worth talking to about this stuff, considering he wrote memoirs about his youthful adventures. Also scrubbed a lot of his online presence
5. You don't think you can hire a lawyer or take a lie detector test anonymously?

If she remained anonymous she would have been written off.
6. Sounds like it would be a good idea to investigate further then.
7. That's not at all obvious, and lining up women that he didn't harass or assault... I mean...

Worth noting he was in a Yale frat nicknamed "Tit and Clit", whose more recent motto was "no means yes, and yes means anal". Also, Yale law professors advised prospective clerks to his office that he liked his clerks to have a "certain look", and another Yale law prof warned prospective clerks about 2 judges - Kozinski (who it came out later is a sex pest) and Kavanaugh, who clerked for Kozinski and has been alleged it's absurd that he didn't know about Kozinski's shenanigans.

This is not even about his confirmation anymore. Ford (and her trauma) is being used. It's a pretty serious indication of how the #MeToo movement has been used for other purposes.
Actually, no. It's been a pretty good (and another) example of how some of the most powerful people (usually men) are deemed beyond accountability and the Republican party in general doesn't actually think sexual assault is a serious issue that should merit any real investigation or accountability. See also: their response to Trump's own 20+ accusers, Roy Moore, Bill Shine (who was fired from Fox for covering sexual assault and harassment for decades and now works in the White House), Bill Porter, Bill O'Reilly, Roger Ailes, Steve Wynn, etc.
